I'm 23 years old and have been consistently smoking hashish for the past three years—pretty much every day. On weekends, I smoke from before breakfast until after dinner. I’d say I’ve easily smoked over 1kg of hashish (ice-o-lator) in these three years. My longest period of sobriety/abstinence during this time was 50 consecutive days, plus another 50 days a year later.
After a while, I started experiencing depression, panic attacks, yadda yadda yadda... I became so dependent on THC that international travel became a problem. If I knew I was going somewhere where weed wasn’t legal, I’d start having anxiety even before the trip.
Now, I want to quit. I'm currently taking 15mg of mirtazapine and 25mg of Seroquel (I’ve been taking Seroquel for almost two years for sleep). Do you think gradually reducing my consumption, as well as switching to a less potent material (for example, smoking only flower instead of concentrates), could help ease my withdrawal? My issue with flower is its poor cost-benefit—it runs out too quickly and is expensive where I live.
I’d love to hear from my fellow stoners or ex-stoners because I’m at an important stage in my life, trying to graduate from college. Some of the problems caused by my chemical dependency have definitely affected my academic performance during critical periods.
I think I went on for too long here—sorry about that, and thanks again for the patience and understanding of those who read this far.
Cheers.
