Sorry if this isn’t the right place, wasn’t sure where to post it and the Shrine didn’t seem appropriate, but also did but figured I’d try here first.

A good friend of mine who passed used Bluelight. I’m not sure if he actually made an account and posted, but knowing him I find it hard to believe that he didn’t. The man’s love for information was equivalent to his love for drugs, and if he didn’t know something he’d be online asking about it or researching. But he also didn’t like his personal information anywhere online, so trying to find him based off stuff like his name is impossible and I don’t know of any online aliases he had.

Anybody know of any way to track down a pretty much anonymous user? He died October 30, 2023 so pretty much all I have for information is the last seen date potentially in late October of last year. I thought I’d found him because there’s a user with his first name, middle initial and birth year but that user has been logged in this year so it’s obviously not him. And tips or help would be greatly appreciated
 
That's going to be very difficult without any more clues or information other than the last seen date.
 
can you try to limit the search to some sub forums?
for example if he was totally into psychedelics, you would want to focus on the PD threads.
then, did your friend have some peculiar language like favorite word or something? or a topic he was very into that could set him apart from other users?
kick out all users who are living in another country (it's quite easy to recognize that sometimes).
kick out all users who are obviously female, gay/straight, or show other attributes that don't fit your friend.

and don't forget that even if he had an account here, he might just have a lurker, meaning he read but never wrote.
or wrote very little.
in that case you will never find him.
 
Perhaps search for his drug of choice within the desired time frame

People also often reuse user names. Did you friend play videogames or use other services? Look for the same or similar username
 
I was supposed to post back in here and a PM with more specific details about him yesterday our got a bit too busy and completely forgot about it. I’m gonna try to get a little sleep and think about it in the morning and (hopefully) post lol
