looking for scary movies......

but preferably not "horror" movies in the traditional sense-more psychological-
some examples i like are funny games, eraserhead and pi. anyone got other ideas i can look up?
also not the obvious stuff like- ring,dark water,ju-on etc after something different!?!?!

It wasn't scary, but I just watched The Machinist last night, and was really diggin it.
 
whilst it's total cheese in some regards, i really enjoyed event horizon, and the first time i watched it it scared me shitless.

on the more psychological side of things, perhaps the original (russian) solaris - it's really quite fantastic, and very eery; full of atmosphere.
 
I second event horizon, don't forget about Seven, Predator was good.
 
True Romance is a pretty twisted movie, although I might not call it "scary".

I bought it on dvd two years ago only because I remembered it totally fucked me over in the cinema. I hadn't experienced that feeling for some time and I just to get so others could feel the same way, lol. Not nearly enough sci-fi and a blantant rip off of other scary flicks, but it sure scared the shit out of me.

event horizen scared the shit out of me the first time i watched it... i was young and in the theater.

personally ist the scariest must bloody and psychologically headfucking film ive ever seen....
