I love the good ol' horror flicks but I've been interested in dabbling in something more legit and realistic.

I have recently discovered a rather strong power of mine and channeled a real spirit. And as most everything we discover for ourselves in this life, it was completely different than that shown in movies.

What I would like to find are documentaries or movies, on mediumship, channelling spirits, the discovery of other realms, etc. Anything that removes that hollywood style element and sheds a more serious and realistic light on things.

Look forward to your responses! I am also not opposed to any books or other information sources you may be aware of.

I would love to hear more about your channeling experience, if you feel comfortable sharing it!

The best resources I know are in certain texts.

Certainly yeah. It will be a bit of a long story but here goes.

My day started off with a dream I had about my mother. Without going into that too much, its a troubled, tarnished relationship. I am not one who dreams typically, and when I do, they are fairly fleeting and silly. This dream however had purpose. It was lucid and vivid. My mothers face was that of a blue and purple swirl and I could not communicate with her.

This dream really shook me when I woke up, so I decided to take advantage of the heightened chemicals in our brain as we first wake and I decided to smoke some MJ. Instead of processing the dream I went through a couple of hours of recording voice memos while walking around outside having massive revelations about my teenage home, her choices in the life, etc. After an hour of straight talking and seemingly being RAZOR sharp in processing what my mind was thinking into spoken words, I surprisingly wasn't exhausted. I decided to hit it again before I started to come down. It wasn't until I got up to my childhood room, that I realized I was VERY, VERY high.

I should add that my childhood room was painted over and has now been filled with the furniture of my mothers partners deceased grandmother. It was the first thing they did after I moved out. Was erase the memory of me being there and furnish it with items of the dead. Odd don't you think?

Anyway… after an extremely odd and enlightening session with my girlfriends cat, I felt as if the cat, Molly, was going to give me a gift.

My cat, Lelu, lay on the window sill asleep.

She went to sit under a chair in a rather noble fashion and stopped purring. For this animal to not purr is a rare occurrence I’ve only experienced once or twice. Then her when the purr began, it was in a different rhythm than I have ever heard. My senses changed and my hearing was suddenly turned on. The haze was gone but the high was not. There was a lot to hear in this room. Molly was about to give me a gift for my attention.

A sense of complete silence fell over the room. True silence. There was no sound from the aquariums downstairs, no odd vibrations from the fan, no electrical drains, nothing. And then I heard it.

What sounded like a chant. A rather primal chant.

Monk Monk Sheek Sheek Bo Bo Bogoda Ba

That's about as good as I can write it out. However it was more flowing and not sharply articulated.

It repeated over and over again and became clearer in my head. It had little treble, and was slightly muffled. I heard something distant hit the wall right next to me.

I couldn’t tell, nor can I as I write this, if this was something in the room or in my head. Something makes me want to think it was some type of primal handshake to another realm. As if the chant was my call to the otherworld. I’m so unsure of this it makes the whole thing feel uneasy.

Fear had not come over me. So I decided, for an unknown reason, to turn around. Molly was to my left, the door out on the other side of the room in front of me.

I began to concentrate again and faintly remember another sound and images of something flowing upwards. This is so faint in my head now that I can barely recall. I do remember it being very strong and I told Molly I was ready to see something else.

It felt as if I was sinking further and further into some type of deep concentration. And it was then I heard it.

Another chant. Only this time, I have no earthly way of explaining what it said.

It was low pitched, dark, and slightly menacing sounding. I perceived some time of fluxing basket weave of grey and black hovering over the room. As if the ceiling was not there, only this fluxing, ribbon like cloud.

This became so strong that I became frightened and I told Molly I had had enough. The connection between my different perceptions and my communication with Molly was uncanny. It was as if I was peeling the layers off of an onion, one step at a time. Deconstructing reality.

Then, I learned of an even deeper stillness in the room. Unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Then there was a feeling.

Something came into the room. This was confirmed by all of my senses except for sight. The door clicked. I heard a slight cascade of plastic clink in the closet. I felt some type of wave move through the room and then it passed through me. My whole body felt chilled from the front to the back. There was a presence in the room now standing behind me.

My heart became the only thing I could sense or feel as it pounded harder and harder. I was scared and was not ready for such an experience. I tried to maintain my mettle and stared at the carpet. I saw a faint image of some type of buzz cut head moving around but it became too intense and I had to stop.

I told Molly that I had to stop. I shook her out of her trance and she started purring as normal. The feeling did not subside as I had hoped. I called to LeLu.

She raised her head, shook off the sleep and looked around the room. As soon as she saw me she stood up and stretched her body in a way that appeared very regal and powerful. Her green eyes perked up at the outside corners and were very bright and rich. The feeling of this presence subsided then.

It was if LeLu woke to a scene and said “Okay, that’s enough, off you go.”

I felt as if I was shown a truth that day. The spirit world is real.

I can elaborate quite a bit further if anyone is interested… just ask away.

What value do you believe it has?
How do you explain what happened at the end of your experience, before LeLu acted?

Oh yes, the movies. Outside of Hollywood movies, I do not know what you mean by that. There are tons of psychological thrillers to list off. Antichrist the most recent I've seen, I would suggest it for you. Pi is not Hollywood. Excalibur has stuck with me. Shining is a classic.
Are you looking for a serious documentary about the subject or something obviously connected in some other way?

Um there was another one, Pan's Labyrinth. The Dark Crystal too. The Witches.

Read the Black Cauldron or The 13 Clock. I assume you've heard of Lewis Carroll, Edgar Allen People, and HP Lovecraft.

There is also a great deal in the world of art and photography, er... Meatyard, Monat. Really in this category is where you will probably find the most, even in modern works.
