Looking for a natural pain Reduction strategy.

Can you suggest stuff that will help me with my pain? Natural, non-addictive*

I'm assuming you have scoliosis? Give us some background info. Ex: age, weight, sex, where the pain is located, how 'bad' the scoliosis is. Have you been operated on? Is surgery in your future? You gotta provide a little background info before anyone can give you advice...

cayenne
chamomile

you could acquire the dried buds of the cannabis indica and chamomile plants and make an infusion in the primrose oil with a heavy concentration of tumeric (natural anti-inflammatory) and cayenne (natural analgesic). You would soak the cannabis and chamomile in the oil for a few days (in a dark brown jar) and then strain and add fresh cannabis/chamomile and repeat until the oil is the strength you want it to be. You would grind the cannabis and chamomile up and strain through a cheesecloth.

Then add the spices. Dose would be 1-4 tablespoons per day depending on strength.
 
Poppy pod tea is a hell of a lot more then slightly addictive its morphine codiene plus a shitload of alkeloids. I think cannabis in combination with muscle relaxers is the way to go.
 
marked - severe Scoliosis.

early 30's y/o.
Male
210lbs - love food.
pain: upper back - and lower back, overall the entire spine to be safe.
luckily the oxy i take daily and it makes my life live able.

No chance of surgery.

What else can i say?

Kratom is well worth trying but it can be slightly addictive. Adding Kava to Kratom has been said to be quite effective, Kava acts as a mild muscle relaxant and Kratom helps control pain. You could look into poppy pod tea but this is also slightly addictive.
Fact of the matter is that you aren't likely to find any strong pain relievers that don't have at least some addictive properties (discluding NSAIDs).
There are some plant extracts that are said to have anti-inflammatory properties but I can't vouch for their effectiveness.

Taking drugs to reduce my (similar) pain seems to work for the day... then just has me craving like a goof the next morning, succumbing to those craving eventually makes the situation much worse.

Relaxing... relaxing deeply, mentally and physically is the only thing that can prevent me from reaching worse discomfort.

powerful yoga sessions have also helped me for months at a time but I would be more careful with this, i;ve been frustrated with my body at times just to make it worse.

accepting your position also helps, I learned to love myself and realized over and over again that it could always be worse... which calmed me down and relieved some angst from being in constant pain.

deep relaxation in positions that your body finds natural... and then pushing your comfort boundries little by little can give one with back issues more flexibility and "stretch room" in ones own skin.

These are all great for pain reduction, another oil that can be used for pain reduction is black pepper. Obviously if it is very severe I would suggest using clove oil, it is very good for relieving pain.
Depending on where you are I can recommend companies to use for wholesale prices and for the better quality.
 
I also suggest yoga, but if you do this you should check into finding an instructor that has extensive training in therapeutic yoga. I would hate for you to go to a yoga class and hurt yourself because the instructor does not understand how to modify poses for you.
 
^^great advice. For people with painful ailments, it is of the utmost importance that the teacher knows what they are doing and that the student takes care to not push themselves to far.

From my recollection, not specifically. However, I have seen yoga completely heal a variety of serious injuries and cure many ailments of both the mind and body. I see no reason as to why scoliosis would be an exception. In contrast, I assume that scoliosis is a perfect fit for yoga.
 
one part of the answer yes. along with therapuetic massage and acupuncture and weight lifting/proper diet/recovery.

lets not give this fellow false hope now. If his problem is severe enough for oxycontin then its going to take a massive effort to fix using a variety of tools.
 
Despite having mild scoliosis myself I have very little idea about pain treatment options for it specifically.

Something that hasn't been mentioned above in terms of treatment options for pain is things like a TENS machine and similar devices. There is a lot of variability in the results people get however one of my ex-gf has a shocking wrist injury that had prevented her working full-time for years and just generally been a pain in the arse for ages.

Treatment with a pretty swish version of a TENS machine didn't eliminate the pain for her but it made her life sooooo much better.
 
Oh man, you can't have surgery, that was the first thing I would have suggested.

Do warm baths help? I don't have any experience with pain myself, sorry.
