longest you have stayed awake without drugs?

Without drugs I'm up 3-4 days. I need to take 50-100mg seroquel at night or I'm overly wired. Not the kind of drug you're talking about though (opposite of recreational.)

So ya 4 days.

i was up for 7 days straight when i kicked oxycontin cold turkey..my extreme insomnia was due to oxy withdrawals of course so not sure if this counts!after about 3-4 days, my state of mind was definitely off but i wasnt psychotic or suffering from psychosis..if anything, i was just a lifeless zombie..

Two days max, just caffeine. A little short of 48 hours. Feels really shitty, especially when you need to concentrate. Felt like I was going crazy.

I had a bad habit of pulling all nighters in undergrad and then even more so in grad school. Was pulling them regularly for a while. I progressively started abusing alcohol worse during this time as well which has a really negative effect on the quality of ones sleep. Combine that with workaholism and a poor ability to regulate when I went to bed, I was perpetually sleep deprived. Shits bad for your brain. I blame the sleep deprivation on my subsequent paralyzingly depression and shutdown that happened to me later in life. Shits no joke, mind your sleep people. It fucked me up bad.

Was up for about 8 or 9 days when i was kicking methadone. Finally went to the ER and told them i hadn't slept in over a week. .. they gave me a script for Zolpidem....took 50mg and slept like a baby.

^ That's insane. Guinness book of world records stopped carrying that category out of ethics concerns, but their last recorded record was 11 days and 24 minutes in 1964. they were strict about monitoring for microsleep though. Fucking drugs man.

Ha.. not really a record i'm so keen to hold.. also like you point out self monitoring at that point is quite sketchy, but on the methadone one, i really don't even recollect trying.. I do recall the moment and jubilation when i felt tired

63 hours (I timed it) working to resolve a European/African network crash that took the entire area offline. By the time my husband picked me up at work (I wasn't fit to drive) I was so wired that it required 2 beers and 2 Ambien to knock me out. I slept for 12 hours.

I've answered this before, but it was five days. I was eighteen and living at a transitional house with my mom.... and this would be embarrassing for anyone to admit, but I was tripping dick off of no sleep and seeing some scary shit by the end of it. I ended up just hopping out of my bed and went into my moms room. Sat down and fell asleep. I don't even care about admitting to that because it was fucking horrible. Insomnia...

I have temporal lobe seizures according to my last scan during a sleep study, I have profound insomnia, my "record" was 6 days and I was found in my driveway at 16 by my parents laying outside of my running truck in park with one shoe missing. What those seizures supposedly do is cause what should be a steady beat at rest states to be random like a drunken snare drummer. That's natural, but only when fight or flight is needed. This also plays into my anxiety disorder. I finally saw a proper doctor and got these things under control, cool side note, it's widely believed that Van Goh had the same disorder. Look up "starry night" and that was how I saw the world for the most part until I got proper medication. Also doing tons of psychedelics probably didn't help, full disclosure.

Much love,
FRF

Did someone up there just say 13 days?!? Wow. Just...no words.

Well certainly no where near 13. But it was about 4 days. Had a few uni assignments due on consecutive days. I was never been one to get any form of assignments started until the night before. So by the time the last one was due, I had no filter at all.

68 Hours. My limit is usually about 48 before I start to hallucinate and become nonfunctional. I try to maintain a regular sleep schedule though.
