Yo UKdogs
Im 25 now right, i should be starting this new job where my income should be reasonable enough to where i wanna save up for a while so i can hit london right
For the dnb mainly
You guys think like americans would be like popular kickin it at the club? Like id be able to find online a few english people to kick it with in advance before going??
You guys think like london chicks like americans? Id wanna bag a british girl obv that london accent is sexy
I gotta do this before i get too old and so as of tonight my goal is to hit london fkr a few days within a year.
What do you guys think? Id go like when i could hit like a playaz night at fabric (id wanna hit preferably more tjan 1 show in a week or so..seeing eksman/herbzie/evil B is a absolute must for me cause we dont get any good MCs here in the US at shows)
I hit dnb shows here in the US but like london is where it all started yaknow thats why i need to makw it happen. And id wanna hit a garage night too we dont have ukg here

You will get some twats, inevitable at any rave but everyone who is there for the proper reasons will we welcome.
And as good as London is - please do not think its the be all and end all of the scene. Don't write the rest of us off

I live in Wolverhampton, a city approx. 17 miles north of Birmingham and both towns were just as instrumental in the inception of the scene as much as London was.

This is a clip from The National Drum & Bass Awards @ The Starworks Warehouse in Wolverhampton back in Feb. The second one has Eksman on the mike.

Wolverhampton is also home to Goldie and one of my close childhood friends (with whom I helped promote a series of old school raves with back in 2008 / 2009) is a DJ and producer signed to Metalheadz (DJ Skitty).

As for the Garage, the same venue in the city hosted this back in Feb as well and are doing another one in the next couple of weeks.

(advert for the next one)

London is probably the only city where you can do 2 or 3 raves in one week but were are only 120 miles up the road (which is no distance on an American scale.

Horses for courses bud, I wish it was still 1994 but it just isn't :(

I used to be out a lot some years ago as I am older than you may think but when the tracks started to come out that was dubbed "clownstep" I turned away from drum & bass. Where have the tunes gone like Dillinja - Hard Noize & Doc Scott - Shadow Boxing?

"We don't skank on a 'ting ya know we just put a whole inna dat"

Oh lord is this guy for real?

The drum & bass around these days is fucking terrible, you are way too many years late Mr Amerikan.

;)

haha this ^^^

Are the Renegade Hardware raves still going ? been out of the scene for a while now.
Sticky (girls don't pay) was probably the best for girls @ scala circa 2015
Be warned English girls go in hard and will probably bosh more dizzle than you can shake a magic mdma stick at, best to get some digits and hit them when there not on a massive comedown, unless you got some yayo, then its fair game

I'd say by far the best uk city for dnb/jungle/ragga/hip-hop and underground party vibes in general has to be Bristol thesedays...

I still listen to jungle but the new jumpup style theyve been pushing the last few years is hot. Shits best for when you go out thats what shows i like to try to hit ideally
Idk how you cant like it
Better than neurofunk that stuff sucks.

I echo this statement.

Too many clubs closed over the years in London, there's still an illegal rave scene(non d&b) there but it ain't what it used to be.

As long as you don't dress up as a kandi raver you should be fine.

Yea i dont wear any of that shit hahahaa never have never will
Idk you guys make england not sound like the most fun place to party cause thats why i wanna go, to get to experience a night out like UK style yaknow, while im still young..this would be like a week trip not long term so id wanna stay within the london area. Its a pipe dream for now but ill make it happen. UK people seem to go hard like not just in the sense of drugs i mean like...just goin in in every way. Id just be hoping that being an american if i went since like it wouldnt be many other americans like id have like street cred with chicks and shit and find a cool crew to kick it with and shit.
I mean shit the UK is a much better country im sure in most regards than the US, if i was offered a chance to switch to living in the UK Id take it unquestionably as long as my cat came with me, couldnt leave him behind.
I mean like i said i hit shows in washington DC/occasionally baltimore but from what it sounds like london/the UK shows are way better thab US shows (and i mean like quality of artists not counting, eg. Seeing hype in london is prob much better than anywhere in the US. Ive seen him in baltimore and in DC. DC shows are live like im sure DC is one of the better cities quality wise for shows in the US but compared to UK DC is shitty probably)
Maybe my view of the UK is just idealized and shows are just as good in london as they are in washington but i doubt it

And id wanna see big ben/maybe the tower of london and stuff but idk london is a world city you know and you guys know how when you go to a diff city esp a "world" level city like you pick up a diff vibe than when youre back home? I love that and thats another reason i wanna go. Thats one of the reasons i love DC cause when i go i feel the vibe while im there of like this is one of the major cities in the whole world you know and here i am temporarily part of something much bigger you know. Idk i get diff vibes from diff cities and i wanna experience london and the london vibe.

I totally get that - I was just sticking up for the the fact the Rave scene was a nationwide effort and not just 'A London 'ting' - but you are right, as a country with one primary city is really is something else compared to rest of the nation (not better or worse, just in a league of it's own compared to us parochials).

As somebody who remembers you from years ago from when I modded PD... please, for all of our sake, reel in the "'Merkin Man Back In Da Homeland!" shtick cos my lawdy lawd will you have a shitty time here if you keep that up. With the best will in the world, you come over like a poor punchline to a forgettable joke. Just act... kinda normal? ... ish... and you'll do a lot better.

And, yeah, Bristol is your friend. London would not only disappoint you but possibly cause an international incident if you tried literally any of the patter you've displayed here so far in front of actual British humans. At least in Briz they're so ketted and cidered off their tits they'd mistake it for... kinda touched charm? A stretch but a better hope than London cos my lawdy would you find yourself talking to the Rozzers rapidly - cos you would be rapeed beyond belief talkiing that way I can promise you...
