thats just L-methamphetamine, they changed the name slightly so morons don't get the wrong idea.
it has no abuse potential what so ever, and actually comes in things like vicks inhalers, it doesn't cross the BBB or only the tiniest amount can. The D-isomer of methamphetamine is the one that gets you high.
Here's some info i found on a quick search:
"Levmetamfetamine has no real potential for abuse. Technically the drug is called levomethamphetamine (the name changed in the US due to stigma around meth).
There are chemical similarities. Namely that (if you want to be really technical) levmetamfetamine is Meth.
BUT the Levo before methamphetamine (l-methamphetamine) changes everything. The Meth that people use to get high on is d-methamphetamine (dextromethamphetamine). The are the same molecules just mirror images, like your hands are. The dextro is the right and the levo is the left.
As similar as it all sounds it is a huge difference with most drugs. The levmetamfetamine does have the vasoconstrictor abilities meth has but it only works in the nasal areas to a small extent. There is no euphoria, just vasoconstriction. Meth does that in the entire body- this part of why meth addicts have those terrible photos. The vasoconstriction is part of why there is such a change of appearance.
Some drugs have a very similarly acting l- and d- isomer.
Amphetamine is l-amphetamine. Dextroamphetamine is d-amphetamine. It is the same molecule just a mirror image. And the d-amphetamine is much stronger than l-amphetamine. But l-amphetamine has stronger effects on the body, heart rate, vasoconstriction, blood pressure.
But I assure you there is no high than can be achieved from levmetamfetamine. A tiny difference can really change a drug. So there is no need for it to be pulled from the market."
