what are your thoughts on this topic, hopefully one day i can smoke a blunt with my stepfather who works for lets say... the drug haters

i think if it comes down to it legalization will make the prices will either bomb or skyrocket once the government starts to sell and tax it. also a drop in the quality of weed.

and the decriminalization part is way better due to the fact that if u get busted a small fine and maybe loosing your weed is not that big of a deal..compared to jail.

so..which are you for/against and why?

The bill in California for legalization would have the prices drop. I think basically any legalization scheme would cause the price to drop atleast a little.
I am pro legalization but decriminalization is still way better than being illegal.

Legalization IMO will lead to price drop, at least initially. Companies competing to make you their customer will do that everytime. Its a lot different finding an illegal dealer than it would be to just go to a different store. Most people I know buy drugs based on quality reliability and price and once you have a good mix of that getting a new dude is a risk. Being legal if you didn't like the prices or quality you could just use a different vendor.

I also believe quality will increase. Having a large scale company with much more resources available will more than likely set acceptable industry standards such as hydro farms. Mass production of high quality weed will also drive down price. I can't really imagine walking into a fine smoke shop that sold Mexican brick weed, what's the point when you could easily have name brand cannibis cup winners.

Johnny Blue said it, and it is the truth.

love em both lol

Mass just decriminalized weed whicjh makes it just a fine and they take ur bud if under an ounce not bad right...

BUT massachusetts and cali may be legalizing so do whatcha can to get it to pass.

legalization is what i want since decriminalization relays too heavily on people doing the right thing(lol) but ive heard a hugely great argument for decrim as well.

This.

Oh I completely agree. I see decrim as a step in the right direction not as an end game. I think if there ever was a time for the smokers to stay out of trouble it would be now. Thing is I don't see that being a problem either so...

I think legalization is the way to go. Decriminalization doesn't do anything to curb violence associated with black-market commodities. Also, legalization would result in better labeling (imagine being able to actually know the strain of weed you're buying on a regular basis, not just what some guy decided to call it, organic vs non-organic, %sativa, indica, ruderalis, etc), more product reliability, lower prices, etc. Ha, even local growers might sell it at the farmers market...

I didn't read your whole post but I agree legalization would definitely lead to a price drop, prohibition=overinflated value for a sought after product.

I would think quality would stay somewhere around what it is now though, they won't start producing bud far better than the currently available "illegal" dank after legalization. God I can't wait for legalization :).
