Misc Legal highs similar to Nembutal (Pentobarbital)?

I hear that Nembutal makes for a perfect sedative in it's effects, as well as somewhat an intoxicant (I say somewhat in that you're still actually able to maintain your mental faculties from what I've heard) and is known to be quite an incredible drug, with the exception of the taste.

However, this is where the main problem comes in: where in the hell am I going to find this?

So for this question alone I ask to you some good (or at least halfway decent) legal alternatives. Rules are, no alcohol and no prescription drugs, because while legal, they still come with lots of restrictions. So in this case I'm talking about OTC medications and maybe, just maybe, research chemicals.

Around 930 BCE, the kingdom split into a southern Kingdom of Judah and a northern Kingdom of Israel. From the middle of the 8th century BCE Israel came into increasing conflict with the expanding neo-Assyrian empire. Under Tiglath-Pileser III it first split Israel's territory into several smaller units and then destroyed its capital, Samaria (722 BCE). An Israelite revolt (724–722 BCE) was crushed after the siege and capture of Samaria by the Assyrian king Sargon II. Sargon's son, Sennacherib, tried and failed to conquer Judah. Assyrian records say he leveled 46 walled cities and besieged Jerusalem, leaving after receiving extensive tribute.

Hope this helps.

Nembutal is a barbiturate, there is not any "legal" ways to obtain a barbiturate unless you have a prescription to it such as Nembutal or Fioricet. There also is no over the counter Barbiturates in the market. It's like asking "Is there any legal ways to obtain a Oxycodone or Xanax." The main answer to your question is no. I have no experience ordering research chemicals online nor do I intend to, but if you want to go for it.

Why... do I even bother. Just why?

I'm talking about something SIMILAR not the exact thing. And by similar, I mean something that doesn't have any restrictions on it and is legal.

There is nothing legal that will feel similar to Nembutal. Anything that feels similar to a barbiturate is a barbiturate and barbiturates are illegal.

While I don't want to sound like an asshole, but yet at the same time I feel like I need to inform you on a few things.
1.) Barbiturates are legal, but are just controlled substances, like pretty much every other prescription drug. They're rarely prescribed however, due to their potency level and potential to form an addiction.
2.) Could you have at least gave me something more thought out than "anything that feels similar to a barbiturate is a barbiturate"?
3.) There is absolutely not a damn thing that is similar to Nembutal that is legal (i.e. without restriction)? How do you know this?

OP, haha, I'm sorry man, but "legal highs similar to nembutal" kinda made my day. The fact is, there aren't many illegal highs that hold a candle to strong barbiturates. Benzodiazepines come close in some regards. I have been given IV Midazolam (Versed) in the hospital and that felt the closest to oral pentobarbital that I've ever experienced from this class. I've IV'ed pentobarbitol 2x and cannot accurately comment on the effects as I felt a brief rush followed by an immediate and complete blackout on both occasions.

Haha, thanks dude. But anyways, I think I actually have found a drug similar to Nembutal that can be obtained and used legally without a prescription (Placidyl). Placidyl is a sedative and a hypnotic that was discontinued in the 90s due to the development of other hypnotic drugs which were less likely to result in an overdose. I guess I can say that it's effects are close to barbs.

But also like barbs (such as Pentobarbital), I don't know how I'm gonna get my hands on a batch of this shit.

Not making fun of you at all by the way, if anything I have an admiration for your quest. I only got a chance to try Pentobarbitol through much searching and otherwise "shady" dealing.

If my history serves me correctly, ethchlorvynol (Placidyl) was as much or more sought after than drugs like Pentobarbitol and the other strong barbiturates in it's day. I think these are what killed Keith Moon. It's not a barbiturate in it's own right, but it's effects-profile is near identical to the latter-mentioned class. It's in every way as dangerous and addictive as pentobarbitol, if not more. William Rhenquist loved the shit, so you know it's good.

I think the only way that one is going to encounter ethchlorvynol in the current day and age is by direct synthesis. You hear just on these boards of people getting prescribed Secobarbitol (Seconal) and they have a hard enough time getting their legitimate prescriptions filled. Granted, this issue is due to drug-shortage, but the drug-shortage was initially induced by the nixing of Barbiturates in general from the developed world's pharmacopeia due to hysteria (well-earned) in the medical and lay communities regarding the perceived (very real) danger arising from use of these types of drugs.

These drugs are very difficult to be prescribed nowadays, and they're not "legal" unless a doctor prescribes you one or both; but very few doctors are going to prescribe them to anyone at all now.

not gonna happen. No drug on the legal market will have a similar effect to what your looking for. Barbitutes were basically outlawed(a couple still prescribed) but why would their be anything like a highly illegal drug? Just to try and give perspective no Over the counter drug will be anything like oxycodone or it would be scheduled.

Good luck.

Well, looks like Wikipedia also tells how it's synthesized as well.

It's basically
Ethchlorvynol synthesized by the reaction of lithium acetylide with 1-chloro-1-penten-3-one in liquid ammonia, followed by acidic work-up.

Are you going to attempt making it??
Sadly not, due to my complete and utter cluelessness and lack of knowledge when it comes to the field of chemistry (well, pretty much any subject, considering I never did any fucking work and just slept).

Holy shit guise, big mistake. I misread the Wikipedia page and thought it said that you could still legally use and own it WITHOUT a prescription, when it actually said WITH a prescription.

Sorry fellas!
