I have been starting to take low dose (1-4 mg) naltrexone to prevent my compulsory-like use of opiates. I should have been clean for 7 days prior to starting, however I never managed to do this so I started to induce naltrexone in my body starting from ~100 micrograms at night and have easily been climbing up to 4 mgs at night. My goal is to take fully blocking dose (close to 50 mgs) if I can tolerate the side-effects. However this is going to take some time because the fear of the PW's when using actively at the same time. I have had only very minor leg aches and some not even diarrhea-like activity, which I don't really count as PW's. So I am quite comfortable continuing this as I haven't had any bad adverse reactions yet.

However as an addict my mind comes up with a lot of stuff regarding naltrexone. I wonder if anyone has an experience using LDN and opiates at the same time, as I'm thinking this could in theory prevent tolerance and dependence when the receptors are antagonized while sleeping? Currently I take LDN every night and still I'm using every day as long as I can get any effects of them, which won't be long if I continue to increase the dose. Right after taking LDN opiates have no effect on me, but after sleeping the night I can get the regular effects always next day.

Of course I started the medication at my own will to get the opiates out of my life, but now I've been starting thinking actually kind of abusing even this drug. Could LDN prevent all bad effects of opioids (tolerance, dependence) for infinite amount of time? I know there has been threads about this and even ultra-low dose naltrexone which in theory potentiates opiates, but I'm interested if anyone has opinions or experiences regarding LDN (1-4 mgs) doses with daily use of opiates?

I have heard anecdotally that naltrexone is fairly ineffective for tolerance, and is only useful to block opiates if you relapse.
