i've been taking vyvanse for adhd, 40mg a day, it's basically adderall with a protein, pretty sure i read 70mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall, anyways sometimes i have to take 60mg or i end up feeling really irritable out of no where, this drug must affect me a lot because i end up staying up until 6am each morning, at first it was appetite suppressing, now it isn't at all, but the insomnia is a bitch. also makes my bp half high, used to rest at 70, now i'm at like 95-100 taking this, heart was "great" with an EKG, supposedly, this is prescribed btw.

last weds or thurs i slept for 13 hours, stayed up for 36, slept for another 14, stayed up for another 24, slept for about 10, up for 36, 10 hours sleep then and i woke up 2 pm yesterday, guess what, it's 7:23am now and i'm not in the least bit fucking tired, the sun is BLARING into my window so i guess i'll be taking my dose and staying up til at least 11. i mean, i feel revitalized enough to stay up, that's why i keep doing it

my memory seems fine, i smoke a few bowls throughout the day, but they're only small, more or less for the anxiety that vyvanse gives me, i also smoke cigs, but only like 6 throughout the day

my question is, will i die doing this? no chills, no nausea, no eye pain, i'm good for another 30 hr stay awake? i hear of people going like 5 days without sleep, i'm like wtf man

i stayed up for 45 hours like 3 weeks ago and i was out on a starry night with my friends TRIPPING, i did not feel real, and moving was beyond a blur

its not in your best interest health wise to continue your bad sleep patterns. When I was a bigger methamphetamine user I would/will go without sleep for up to about 2 weeks, depends on you, usually its time for bed around 5-7 days, mind I rarely ever got psychosis even after well over a week, Im very strong minded, even requiring higher dosages than most people :( .

Be smart dont stay up for a long time, rest is good, you don't want amphetamine psychosis.

IMO if its 7:30am and your still up DONT take the vyvanse, go to bed and take it when you wake.

good luck but be safe, if I told you you could die would you still take it ?

Thanks for your post and yeah, I probably would. I'm reckless, but my question is how you're not dead staying up for days like that!

I feel fine, I dunno, I did overnights for 16 months over past the 4 years. Even since school it has been "normal" to stay up til 4am, go to school on no sleep and crash in the evening.

I've lost a bit of weight, my chest is a bit boney, I don't know if I'm just overly paranoid because I get random chest pains, usually when adding marijuana. But I mean, if I was to take a jog around the block while on my measily 40mg I would still feel the heart strain. Supposedly this is a normal feeling of high blood pressure and sitting for long intervals (which I do at home and at work), I'm honestly so surprised that my eyes are still in good shape.

I may stay up yet. I took an ativan and my regular seroquel xr 300mg for bp, usually the two combined knocks me flat out. Maybe it's too sunny of a day.

the sleep patterns you describe actually seem quite sufficient. i've been on less sleep without the help of amphetamines - i've got really bad insomnia - but you'd probably do your body a favor if you scored/got prescribed some benzos/z-drugs and with their help tried to get at least six hours of sleep a night. six hours seems to be the magic number somehow, at least for me, everything less will make me horribly grumpy and agitated throughout the day, but i can get by on that amount of sleep.

Be careful about getting a benzo or z-drug script though - you don't want to end up dependent on them to sleep..

If you feel like your body is rested, it's probably not doing you harm, but I imagine it might be difficult to sustain a pattern like that and to fit everyday life around it. If it's becoming a real problem I would speak to your doctor about it.

chelated magnesium at bed time + 3mg melatonin, maybe a bowl or two does the trick for me unless i went and did something stupid like took a vyvanse at 7PM.

How many times throughout the day are you taking the vyvanase? I think what's happening is that it's lasting too long, or you're taking it too close to bedtime. Vyvanase is effectively time-release (lisdexamfetamine is inactive until the body chops the lysine off, turning it into dextroamphetamine*), so you may need to avoid taking it in the evening in order to keep a reasonable sleep schedule. If you're not taking it in the evening, you could talk to your prescribing doctor about switching to a shorter-acting ADHD med, so you can keep a normal sleep schedule.

It's not really good for you to be keeping that sort of sleep schedule, but it's not that bad. I certainly can't do that and still be functional on the second day, with or without adderall.

Hey all, I ended up falling asleep at like 10am, it's now 3:13am hahahah. I didn't wake up once. I feel extremely sick though in my stomach. I'm gonna try to keep it at 24-30 hrs twice a week. I'd imagine if I had stayed up and crashed that I would have been even more ill and confused.

My family has more or less accepted that I'll always be up more at night. Days do not interest me, my body attacks me during the days if I'm not smoking weed or taking something. I've tried having a day schedule at least 100 times and everytime I end up staying up and then screwing it up. I'm just going to stop trying. I think I would take my second (1/2) dose of the 40mg too close to the evening for sure, and that's why I would be up for 36 hours at a time. I heard that I can get adderall IR for a quick boost in the evenings without it giving me insomnia...

Stimulants like adderall have the same effect on my sleep patterns. I have a lot of trouble sleeping already, but when I take even a little bit of adderall in the morning it generally keeps me up all day and night. I start feeling really shitty though, in addition to not being able to sleep I get super bummed from coming down off the adderall.

Having a day schedule has been difficult for me too...the best way to do it (if you want to do it--I honestly think it generally contributes to better mood and a healthier/happier existence), is to exercise during the day, and eat healthy regular meals. It's best to find exercise that you really like, and that you want to be awake for. If I sit around all day, I get bored and want to take something too. Of course, my patterns are so erratic that I generally end up fucking myself over by staying up one night all night and totally throwing myself off though.

Exercise really is key though. Endorphins are a great drug.

you should be taking your entire vyvanse dose at once, try 7 or 8 am. set your alarm. if you are awake take it, if not, set your alarm, take it and go back to bed. this should treat your symptoms all day and allow you to feel aroused at normal hours. if you still feel like you need a boost in the afternoon, talk to your doctor about getting some ir adderalls or something. if you take these early enough you can get to bed at a reasonable hour and still feel fantastic when you wake up ready to rock on vyvanse.
