Hey guys, I've heard of kratom not really sure what it is though. So far it looks like a synthetic opiate? Well I have a pretty big pill habit and maybe it would be a good substitute? I would like to know what you guys think. One of my main issues is I get SEVERE panic attacks lasting days after I smoke pot sometimes. This sounds more like a opiate though. I would like to avoid having a panic attack can you guys who have experimented with it tell me it's effects especially regarding anxiety? Thanks!

I've never tried it, but from what I know, in lower dosages it is more stimulating, which could possibly cause anxiety, and at higher dosages it acts more like an opiate. I've never heard it beng compared to marijuana though, and many have used it succesfully for detox, but like opiates it is physically addicting as well though the withdrawal symptoms are less intense.

Ok, well did some more research and I might as well give it a try. Do you know if anyone has died or had physical/mental issues from it?

its awesome...i take 60 mgs paxil and it doesnt react...no real chance of addiction ( about as much as weed ) i did it every weekend for about 9 months then just moved out of my house and moved to tree...its cheaper...but kratom is awesome...uei is the only way to go....do a google search and find a reputable vendor, dont buy that headshop shit

'no chance of addiction' is simply wrong. while kratom holds less of dependence potential than 'classical' opioids, there is enough anecdotal evidence to suggest that regular, high-dose consumption will lead to a physical dependence that is just as unpleasant to withdraw from as all other forms of opioids.

The only death that I have heard that involved kratom was someone that mixed high doses of codeine and possibly alcohol with it. It seems to be a fairly safe substance. I've done kratom twice and one level teaspoon on an empty stomach with some cannabis gave me a great body buzz similar to hydrocodone but without the sedation.

Ok sounds good, everything I've heard about it. I ordered some online and will see how it effects me soon. I've heard a lot about it actually reducing anxiety, this will be great if it does. Then I won't have to worry when I go out or mess with benzos/alchohol.

This! Just be forewarned that it will be as 'a good substitute' just that, replacing one addiction with another.

Kratom is superior to Methadone for pain relief . My galpal has fibromyalgia and a prescription for Methadone. Enough methadone to put her pain away was also enough to make her very dizzy but 5G of Kratom in coffee 3x/day kept her out of pain and had no side effects. She liked it a lot in fact. I was taking 2G/2x per day until three weeks ago when I ran out. Withdrawal was just like I went into a slump for a couple of weeks, it wasn't particularly torturous.

I would love to try this as I am out of pain meds till Monday, but it is illegal in Indiana. I hate this state!!!!!

Just the alkaloids are illegal in Indiana, it was a bill to ban research chemicals which kratom obviously is not, and you can still buy it although some vendors
won't ship there anymore, its like how mescaline is illegal but you can still buy the cactus that contains it online.

I Love Kratom

I have had amazingly great experiences from Kratom. I actually use it quite a bit when I was in the military for recreational use. It doesn't show up on drug tests. As ZNegative said -- it reacts as a stimulate in lower dosages and at high dosages it reacts as an opiate. If you are going through withdrawal it is great. I would usually take 1 oz. of the Bali Kratom and pour it into a 16 oz. water bottle (make sure you drain a little water out so there is room for the powder). Shake it up, then proceed to down the nasty tasting green powder. I would always go to the store and buy the Kratom, a water bottle, and a 20 oz Coca-Cola so I could have a chaser. A lot of people put it in milk, but I feel that it clumps up too much in milk. DO NOT put the powder in soda. It will cause the beverage to foam up. If you have any more questions come to me. I use Kratom on daily basis for a couple years. I moved so I can't find it anymore. I found a Kratom bar when I was in rehab in South Florida. But I love the stuff... too much.
