This is a post designed to elicit as much information as possible about kicking subutex (16 mg sublingually) by discontinuing subutex and replacing my daily subutex regimen with long acting morphine and/or oxycodone. I've been on subutex for around 7 years and I've been trying to get off of it for about 2-3 years without success and I feel as though I've tried almost everything (this includes countless rehabs, ibogaine, etc).
My hope in using a short acting opiate and titrating that down is that I will be able to avoid the prolonged, month-long acute bupe withdrawals that I've gone through so many times and instead go through a three day oxy kick or something along those lines. In lieu of full disclosure, I am also simultaneously dealing with a significant benzo habit although I've opted to deal with the opiates first and wait until that's done, if possible, to deal with getting off the benzos.
So BLers, please, share your information, experiences, insights, intuition, and advice and I will in turn appreciate all of you and the time you spent helping me understand what exactly I am attempting and if it might be successful. I'll answer any questions if I've left anything unclear, just let me know, and thanks again.
