lately i've been having trouble registering. sometimes i'll get it perfectly with hardly no mark at all, then other times i'll fuck up and have to stick myself several times, and the area will be a lot redder from all of my failed attempts.
i noticed that lately my biggest mistake is going through the other side of the vein. i'm using 5/16'' needle tips with a 1cc syringe. i have good veins, but i'm afraid while trying to perfect my process i'm going to fuck my veins up and collapse my veins.. i've been sticking myself kind of slowly, so maybe the veins are rolling and i should stick myself a little quicker? and how many fuckups does it take to completely collapse a vein? should i only be worried if i was messing up constantly over a long period of time?
also, today i had a hard time registering. i got a decent amount of blood in, but then i accidentally lost the vein. after trying to stick myself again with no luck, i figured i should use a new needle. i backloaded my sort of bloody solution into another sterile syringe. the syringe kind of got kind of foamy, and i tried my best to get the air out, but i ended up shooting out some of my solution cuz the airy part was so foamy. the blood had probably been sitting in the syringe for a minute. i then proceeded to try and register in my other arm, and injected like 10units into my vein, but then i felt like the blood might have coagulated too much so i just pulled it out and decided to start over. sucks cuz i wasted the shot, but i figured i'd rather be safe than sorry. was shooting the 10units of blood a problem, and if i had proceeded to finish the shot would that have been bad?
also, i'm using 31g needles, do you think that 30g would be slightly easier for me to register? i feel like my veins are going to collapse or something if i dont perfect my technique soon. i used to have no problem, but lately i've been making stupid mistakes.
is there some kind of good homemade video of the correct procedure to stick myself so i can maybe try to find what's causing me to mess up some of the time?
oh, and also i dont use a tourniquet cuz my veins are easily visible.
not sure if this should belong in OD or BDD
