Part of me thinks they wanted to be caught, maybe they were mules being made to bring the drugs across border and being locked up was the best solution?

Yea maybe just got in too deep. But then by the call it doesn't seem that way, seems like they just thought the cops were already onto them. I'd say it's more likely they were just a pair of really dumb ass Murican's who couldn't handle their sativa strain based paranoia...and have likely landed themselves years lol :S

Anyone know what the laws like in Idaho? I'm pretty sure it's not a pot friendly state.

TBH It's hard to believe the story is even genuine it's that ridiculous lol.
 
If it was 30 pounds i think its totally possible that the cops were on them and didn't know whether they had weapons with them or not.

From what he was saying on the call, they were convinced the police were already onto them and they believed the other cars around were undercover police. There could be more to it, they could have been civillians attempting to make a civil arrest (for driving under the influence) which they confused with the police. I'd imagine they were extremely paranoid anyway smuggling such a large quantity of drugs across the border, then as they were under the influence it would have accentuated those feelings to the point it convinced them and they felt it was best to surrender and throw themselves at the mercy of the police.
 
If you had that much weed on you the absolute last thing you'd want to have done is smoked any. With the smell and all. I don't people who're willing to throw their freedom/life away for what a years wages.
