Benzos Just switched from 6mg alprazolam to 20mg valium, was this a good idea?

Hi, like 90% of questions/threads I am sure this has been asked. Anyway I had been getting 3 sticks a day for three years and like most people I would abuse them or sell them. My doctor got a call from my ex and told him I sold her xanax, so he was intent on giving me only 2 sticks a day, I beg and pleaded like the addict I am and we met in the middle @ 10mg valium twice a day. I also get 30mg adderall xr which he kept the same and didn't even mention, thank god. I pushed for valium after reading many posts that it boosts opiates, I am on bupe, and is long acting, ect. I feel stupid for getting caught and I guess I want positive feedback cause I feel like I took a loss. I am hell bent on not abusing these as they help a lot. So any feedback, also I take 450 lyrica a day, so that helps out a lot too,
 
Imo... you will not be satisfied .... valium has a way different feel than xanax.... I actually prefer valium..but it is different and much less potent... good luck...
 
I got the adderall at least, and I had to think fast knowing 4mg of xanax would last only a couple of hours, so I begged and pleaded for valium as I know if it came in higher dose pills it would kill xanax, but either way has advantages and the whole cytochrome p-450 thing intrigues me.

I should note that I'm also getting 90 1mg kpins this Friday, and I hadn't taken xanax in a little over a week, taking only 1-2mg a day of kpin to stay strait, so perhaps those potentency numbers don't lie, but from my experience I am held well with kpins or 20mg valium, yes I want to get high, but I prefer the adderall. The one thing bout xanax I loved was the instant onset and heroin like taste, I hated the addiction.

^This. 20mg valium is 1mg of alp, so you are pretty much cutting your dose into 1/6, with a slower come on and effect.

You should be taking more like 40mg twice a day, at least if you are trying to match your previous dose effect.
 
My doctor is so stupid, he wanted to only give me 10mg a day, I am not trying to just match my previous dose, I am working with an idiot hack. Anyway, 20mg and 8mg bupe and i passed out, there is an obvious heavier interaction, I feel, between opiods and diazepam, if I had gotten 4mg a day of xanax, that wouldn't do much for me, so if all this does is boost opiates until I get more benzos than I am fine. I am frustrated, but I much prefer the adderall and at least I didn't lose my benzos altogether.
 
Your doctor should lose his license! If you've been on that dosage of xanax for that long, you're running a HUGE risk of seizures!

If you can't get any benzos right now I would suggest going to the pharmacy and getting Delsym - its extended-release DXM and its an NMDA antagonist. Start taking 15mL every twelve hours immediately or you could end up having nasty withdrawals and seizures. If you can down-regulate NMDA then you might be okay. Benzo withdrawal is no joke and it can kill you - 20mg of valium is not going to do anything with that kind of Xanax usage! I can't stress this enough - that high dose of Xanax coming down to that little Valium is asking for death!
 
You keep talking about being happy about getting adderall.. what at all does that have to do with getting switched from alprazolam to diazepam?

If anything, the adderall is going to make the benzo withdrawl worse and the anxiety MUCH worse.
