I just finished the book Mushrooms and Mankind which for those who haven't read it already explains how entheogens are responsible for most if not all the worlds religions. It even touches on ancient aliens, fascism, and the flaws of Freudian psychology. I found this book to be a great anchor for my own spiritual beliefs having had several spiritual awakenings under certain entheogens both natural and man made.

James Arthur also relays in this book that the information he's pieced together is already common knowledge in very high circles and is kept for the supposed elite to know. At first I thought his us versus them mentality was a little off the wall but then i wanted to research more of his findings. When I tried to do this the only thing I could find on James Arthur was a small article relating to his mysterious death which can be found here.

It may sound a bit conspiracy theory but isn't it odd that such a huge pioneer in the field of ethno-mycology just seems to have disappeared after his death?

Anyway I post here wandering if who else has read this book or knows more about James Arthur and what you think of his work and his mysterious unfortunate death.

I find myself in large agreement with James' work and would really appreciate anyone who can show me more of it.

I became interested in his work in 2006 or so. I remember around Christmas that year I started posting images of the cross/mushroom symbolism and Jesus, on myspace to a lot of a my friends. The main image I remember had the mushroom as the "halo" or whatever that is in images in back of people's heads, framing them. One could argue that it might be just coincidental, as it's a pretty common-basic form, but then there are other things that point to the same...

I remember using the images that I found that linked back to his website to try to show my mom/family that there is more to Christianity and religious experience, and how it has it's roots in shamanism and spirit worship, and before we had computers and automobiles and steam engines and so much of the modern world, and had less people, we paid more attention...

I never actually read his book... his website was just very informative. When I found out he had died I couldn't locate any information about it. What was he arrested for?
