Heroin IVing with dasani?

So about 10 minutes ago I did a shot of heroin. Jack backed, shot it in fine, and then felt a very slight pain followed by itching. I only do heroin from time to time but never felt this before. Now i have a slightly raised bump on the site, lighter in color than my skin. It reminds me of some type of insect bite. The itching subsided after a few minutes. I've done other bags from this bundle and the injecting seemed normal. My only guess is that I used Dasani bottled water which has minerals added for taste. I looked at the ingredients and besides purified water there is also magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride, and salt. I'm feeling fine, kinda stupid for not using boiled water, but will there be any negative effects from IVing this stuff?

your fine man alot of people use bottled water and the little bump at the IV site is fairly normal. It would only be cause for concern if it does not go away within a few hours or it becomes large and swollen or painful. i think it means you missed the SLIGHTEST amount.

for future reference, in most countries tap water contains far less bacteria than bottled water. bottled water may taste better, but i have read from many sources that you shoot with cold tap (boiled if possible), not distilled or bottled water.

haha, same thing when you have to take your contacts out but do not have contact solution. you are supposed to use tap, not bottled water.

I would say take an antihistamine to help this go away.

In the future I would go out of my way to get sterile water, or bacteriostatic water.

I would also look into posting in the IV/injections complications mega thread next time.
