so i have the tramadol 50 mg HCL pills and i was wondering how and if it's worth injecting these? Yes i've used the search engine on google and bluelight plenty of times and it was a mixture of "your an idiot for wanting to do this", to "my friend did it but i dont know how".

Anyone have a definitive answer?

thanks

Definitely 100% not worth doing. But if you really were dead set on it, expect zero rush followed by zero buzz/high. Tramadol is pretty worthless in its opioid effects IMO. I've heard they can help with withdrawal a tad bit, but they mostly act on your seretonin and norepinephrine.

Long story short- do NOT waste your time IVing them for nothing.

For me personally, as the above poster, tramadol does absolutely nothing for me. That being said, what he is stating above is not true for everyone. Some people get plenty out of tramadol and really like the buzz that they get. This mostly depends on how you metabolize and whether you have certain enzymes or the genetics for it..some people do, about half of people do not. As for injecting it I have no idea how effective that would be.

There is really no point to IVing tramadol; you're not gonna get a rush or anything. It has great oral BA and hits you very quickly. Not to mention the seizure risk. When I got prescribed them I had no tolerance to opiates and they actually worked very good but if you have a strong tolerance they will be useless except maybe help with withdrawals.

I agree with phenethylo J, Tramadol has a high oral bio-availability and the onset is fairly quick.

Before tolerance set in, Tramadol was by far my favourite opioid to use, but now I'd have to use ~800mg which just isn't worth risking for a seizure.

For risk:reward I'd honestly say that it's just not worth IV'ing.

Its worthless because it needs to be extensively metabolized by the liver in order to be converted into the opioid o-desmethyltramadol. They only administer it in hospitals that way because it's easier but there's no clinical advantage.

I'm going to close this. Debates on tramadol's use as a recreational drug have no conclusions.

My opinion, if you're used to other things, stronger things, then chances are it won't do anything. If you have no tolerance, it's magnificent.
