Ok so I woke up pretty late today, around 7pm. I immediately went outside to play basketball with my dad before it got dark. The weather had dropped from warm to colder and I realized instantly I hate a horrible headache. I also drink caffeine a lot so I made a cup of coffee when I went inside. I have never had this bad of a headache from caffeine withdrawals...it was excruciating! I took pseudophredine and then around 25 minutes later had 200mg of codeine that was liquid from crushing the pills up and dissolving them in water. I then had a benadryl. I am very family with opiates having abused them for 2 years and have done every single opiate out there. Surprisingly I have only done codeine once before this in a smaller dose...around 60mg perhaps. About 20 minutes after ingesting the codeine drink the top of my head became VERY itchy. I decided to take a shower figuring my scalp was dry. In the shower, more of my body became to itch. By the time I got out, EVERY PART of my body was itching horrible and if I itched it didn't feel like the usual opiate itch I get. It became 50x worse when I itched and it hurt. I can't even touch my body atm because if I do it becomes so fucking itchy!
I know this isn't an opiate itch. It's far from it. I'm thinking im allergic too one of the three substances I had. Any help to what to do would be appreciated!

Codeine releases more histamine than any other opioid.

If you've only experienced it once before then it could very well be that you have forgotten about the itch?

Take some anti-histamines pronto.

You had this same problem with dilaudid dude, I'm guessing you're hyper sensitive to that side effect of opiates.... Find an antihistamine that works for you.

Get prescribed Hydroxyzine.

I've never been able to get high off of codeine, but I personally find dicetyl morphine to be way more intense as far as histamine releases go than any of the more synthetic opioids.

OP,
Was the first time you took codeine (the occasion where 60mg was consumed), was it also extracted from the same pill, or was it from some kind of cough syrup?

What ? I've only done dilaudid once and I IV'd it but never posted about it... ? This is the only opiate that has ever given me a bad itch...I love every other opiates itch. I have been prescribed to hydroxine before but a few antihistamines did the trick. than

@znegative, it was in the syrup.

I personally quite like the opiate itch, seriousoly ! But to tame it a bit, an anti histamine is what you need. failing being prescribed a better antihistamine, OTC diphenhydramine will do the job nicely, its also sold as benadryl or sleep aid (not the non drowsy type).

As stated in every post here, antihistamines are what you want for the codeine itch. They'll also help subdue any nausea you may encounter too. I consider them an essential accompaniment when I use opiates, as I always suffer terrible nausea without them.

I think this thread has served its purpose, so I'm going to consider this answered & closed.
