A sex shop is selling a substance called "Power Pak" as a vcr head cleaner (which really means popper). The bottle says it is 85% isobutyl alcohol, 5% hcl, 5% h2o and 5% other.
I know about nitrite poppers--how is this similar / different? Both in the rush, the after effects, the contraindications, and the dangers? Do you use them the same way?
Thanks,

Okay, I did some more searching and I am convinced these ARE recreational poppers, even though they do not have a nitrite. I found the following website:
http://www.omniadult.com/store/special/misc_1.html
They sell both poppers and whippits. Their list of poppers is very extensive and includes poppers with FOUR different main ingredients, as follows:
{1} Cyclohexyl Nitrite or {2} Isobutyl Alcohol or {3} Ethyl Chloride or {4} Isopentyl Nitrite.
Most of the poppers are the first kind. However, five are isobutyl alcohol. Their names are suggestive that they give a rush and are associated with gay sex (commonly linked to poppers). See for yourself:

So, while I now think that isobutyl alcohol is a recreational popper ingredient, that still does not tell me how similar/different it is from the nitrites in effects, hangover (headache), dangers, contraindications, etc. Again, if anyone has tried any of these non-nitrite poppers, let me know what they are like.
In fact, if we have any really experience poppers who have compared these, a compare/contrast of them all (or list of them from best to worst) would be great.
Thanks,
