Is there a "proper" way of snorting?

I am wondering should one snort rather unforcefully to where the substance resides basically a few cm's inside ones nose(where it could be reached with a finger), or forcefully to where substance gos straight to the back of the nasal caviety and you can taste a drip?

Just wondering if substance should sit in nose for a period of time or go back straight into nasal caviety and drip almost instantly.

I'm not not expert, but I'm pretty sure it depends on the drug. Bupe, for example, has a shitty oral BA so if you really rail it forcefully and feel it drip down your throat, I think you're basically just swallowing it. With smack and coke I usually just try to sniff hard enough that it's into my nasal pathways and can get absorbed but not so strongly that it immediately drips down my throat.

I feel like a lot of it doesn't get absorbed quickly enough if you let it just sit in your nose. The drip still gets you higher anyways.

You want to avoid the drip, since that's product leaving your nasal cavity. You want your dose to stay there and get absorbed, not go down your throat and end up in your stomach.
Ideally you'd be snorting a mist, which helps absorption and onset, and you would not spray enough to get the drip.

Yeah if you just vacuum up a big line of OC for example you may as well just swallow/parachute, you want to take a small enough line so it can be absorbed my the membrane and not too vigorously as to get an insta drip

I snort fairly forcefully with most things... there is only a certain amount of drug that will get stuck inside the nasal cavity... the rest of it is going to go into the stomach where it gets absorbed anyway.

I like to get as much as possible inside my nasal cavity to get that rush... but the stuff that drips down your throat isnt totally wasted, as it is just absorbed orally

like the Administrator said, the most effective (not to mention safest) way to snort any snortable drug is to dissolve it in water, load it into a needle-less syringe or any kind of spray bottle, and squirt it into your nose - hell, even just snorting the water through a straw will work fine. but if you just snort the dry powder, a lot of it ends up in your lungs, and a lot of it in gets stuck in your snot. you miss out on almost 50% of the high. not to mention that it fucking destroys your nasal tissue, and if you snort drugs every day, or even every weekend, pretty quickly you won't be able to smell or taste a thing, and that kind of damage never goes away

this is pretty much the only way to snort black tar heroin, btw

I have the same question. After snorting the product of choice (by crushing as finely as possible) I snort about two drops of water from a dropper and wondered if snorting too much water can have an effect on how much is absorbed.

I usually flush my nose with water about 15 minutes after snorting, so the drip falls down quicker and doesn't taste as nasty.

Assuming you're taking something that has high nasal BA. If you're snorting benzos, then stop what you're doing and stick that shit in your mouth.

Snorting too hard causes it too drain down into your stomach anyways. Which makes it a waste.

I find to make it sit in my nasal cavity I just snort lightly through my nose and let it sit in my nose so it absorbs.. it doesn't take a monster snort to get the job done.
