Is Temazepam really that great?

Tomorrow I have to let my doc know which sleep aid I have chosen to replace the ambien i had been prescribed for 6 months but no longer does the trick. This excited me because i have read on multiple occasions how praised restoril/temazepam is compared to the other drugs prescribed for insomnia. I read it was the most euphoric and gave you a really good nights rest. So my question is, in your opinion what is the best sleeping aid for recreational and non recreational purposes. As of now im only aware of sonata and restoril. And i should also mention i LOVED tripping on ambien every now and again, so a trippy medication will also work for me. And im gonna say rite now, im not trying to manipulate or scam my doc in any way. He always says "if your happy im happy"....
 
I have been rx'ed Restoril quite a few times before. It does the trick for sleep but I don't feel it is anything special. If your doctor is asking what you want...I am rx'ed Halcion 0.25 mg and it is really strong. I use it maybe once a week sometimes twice a week. Never abused any of my hypnotics.
 
Thanks for the response but im not going to lie....I am basically looking for the most recreational hypnotic on the market. Dont get me wrong i dont just abuse my script but i dont need to take a pill everysingle night to get me to sleep and I find it fun to watch a movie or w/e while enjoying a recreational amount of w/e hypnotic it may be but i do that on rare occasions only, and remember...ive already tried ambien. Loved the trip associated with taking a recreational effect but over time the ambien stopped making me trip and made it impossible to use them for anxiety due to tolerance i suppose. So again im asking what, in your personal opinion is the best hypnotic out there when it comes to recreational purposes. It can be recreational as in really trippy or it just being overwhelmingly euphoric ect.
 
good for sleep but thats about the extent of it imo/e

some people like it tho, maybe you will maybe you wont but id say temazepam>ambien thats for sure
 
Temazepam is an enjoyable benzo but in my experience you won't get the same trippy effects that you got off ambien. I've never taken higher than 60mg so maybe there's a little something special at higher doses IDK.
 
Flunitrazepam, nitrazepam, and lormetazepam are the strongest hypnotics I've ever had by far, but I don't think any of those are available in the States. Temazepam ranks #10 on my list of 17 benzos I've tried, so no, it's not all that. I'm not sure what else you've got in the States, but I'd say temazepam or midazolam would be your best bet, since the other choices aren't exactly great. Midazolam is a lot stronger but shorter-acting. I don't know if you guys get Estazolam, but from what I've read about it, it should be better than temazepam. Triazolam is strong, too, but like midazolam in that it's real short-acting.

With no tolerance 20-30mg of temazepam gave me a nice 8-hour sleep, but within a week or two (even with taking breaks to avoid tolerance buildup) I was eating 50-60mg and had to switch to nitrazepam. Gets recreational with weed, a beer or two and 80-160mg IMO, though lots of people seem to find it immensely powerful.
 
I downed 250mg of temazepam an hour ago and it's not doing it for me at all. I am used to doing some pretty disgraceful benzo combos at outragous doses though. But i have found that if i'm not comboing benzos i can only really get buzzed hard from triazolam (halcion) and flunitrazepam (rohypnol). High dose valium (diazepam) dose the job aswell. But i never really got much from temazepam. And as for all the 'z' drugs like zolpidem and zopliclone , there garbage, i'll down a whole box of stilnox and not feel anything.

i live in the states and i have a 30mg temaz script. i agree that temaz is overrated, its nice for relaxing and shit, but i dont htink it is much more recreational than other benzos. i expected euphoria when i first started, but it was nothing amazing, yah know?? it is very nice for relaxing but nothing like opiate euphoria. people seem to overrate it IMO. also, i think it gained alot of stigma from being abused sooo much in europe and australia because it was like the xanax of europe. in the US, xanax is the most prevalent benzo and so it has the highest abuse rates. makes sense right? the more product, the more people will use. well in europe a while back, temazepam was one of the most prescribed benzos so it was very easy to find so most people chose to abuse that because it was the easiest to buy. thus, people began shooting it and used it with other drugs especially amphetamines to come down, or opiates to increase the high...

yes i like temaz, but i had high hopes which got me disappointed and got me chasing the high everyone was talking aboutt. it was always relax me real well, but never gave me amazing stupefied bliss.

stronger than most benzo ( not by weight, but by effects) and it is a great benzo, one of the best. but again, i dont find any benzo to be really euphoric, but they do blend really nicely with amps and opiates which makes them seem euphoric, but actually the other drug is what is providing the euphoria.

sir i believe you are looking for zopiclone or one of its isomers or something. z-drugs are the ones with that trippy fucked up aspect to them and that's what you're looking for. The effect will eventually wear off and you will fuck your gaba system, sleep patterns and a bunch of things if you use it recreationally or even every single night for sleep. I don't know why but for fun if i had to pick either valium, lorazepam or zopiclone in any dose, it'd be zopiclone at around 15-30mg.
 
I prefer ambien over temazepam. But honestly I think all benzo's are lacking and complete garbage in terms of recreation.
 
Closed. We aren't here to tell you what the most recreational drug is, so that you can ask your doctor for it.
