Is my aMT active?

I got some aMT yesterday. I did ~2mg(oraly) about 4 hours ago and haven't noticed any effects. I thought 2mg was somewhat active(pupil dilation, anti-depression) but noting. On the baggie it has:

2-(1H-indol-3yl)-1-methyl-ethylamine.

Is this the good stuff and I will just have to take a higher dose or will I be writing a strongely worded email?
 
I think maybe you think you have 5-MeO-aMT, which is much more potent than aMT (I don't know why else you'd be so certain that aMT is active at 2mg that you would write back complaining). The threshold for aMT is around 15 mg, though some minor effects occur around 10. Be thankful you got aMT and not 5-MeO-aMT, and that you didn't receive 5-MeO-aMT and think it was aMT. You'd be in a world of pain if that had happened.
 
I'm not complaining or anything. I just read several accountants of people taking amt for its anti-depressant activity at very low doses and noticing some very light threshold effects.

I taught I got the inactive 2nd chain substituted instead of the active and lovely 5ft chain substitute.

The reason I took such a low dose was incase I did indeed get another chem and to check for any adverse reactions. But I will take 30mg at the weekend to see if it is infact active.
 
I was not aware that there is an inactive version of aMT going around. What is this "2nd chain substituted" stuff about?

I guess my confusion comes predominately from the fact that you've taken the inactivity of a dose that's reported to have very light threshold effects by a few people as a warrant for your suspicion and for creating a thread voicing that suspicion. If you don't get any effects at 30 mg, then maybe there's something to worry about. Good luck.
 
You most likely have AMT. 2mg is an extremely low dose... antidepressant doses were more like 5mg. You should get threshold from 5mg, but 2mg is in no way guaranteed to produce any effects at all. Even 5mg would be sub-psychedelic, though it does provide an emotional boost I find.

30mg will definitely produce effects though, if it's AMT. :) And I've never heard of any inactive versions of AMT going around.

Oh, and good work on taking a very low dose first to check for abnormal reactions... that was responsible of you. :)

What does it smell like? AMT smells sort of like a foul, very strong chemical fertilizer. Some say it smells like shit, but I think that's a little off.
 
It does smell quite foul and stale. I never realy doubted it wasn't aMT. I just got a little worried at one point and this thread was created in the panic.

Thanks for the reassurance Xorkoth you put my mind at ease. Now I can't wait to go exploring my aMT. This thread can be closed now if you want.
