I saw a chart online by Dr Felicity Plunkett and she said that Lorazepam is twice as strong as Clonazepam. Is this true?

If you look at different comparison charts you will see many variations, so I would say take it with a grain of salt. In my personal experience, clonazepam is a lot stronger than lorazepam.

Lorazapam sucks IMO, least recreational/medial use among the others...took 12mg one time and litterally didn't feel a thing(they were real). Another time took 2mg, still didn't do anything, they don't help my anxiety or get me numbed or benzo'd out if that's what I'm looking for... My list of Benzo's from fav to least fav 1. Xanax(just wish it had longer half life) 2. Etizolam 3. Klonopin 4. Valium 5. Ativan(boooo). Have tried Temazepam but it was so long ago, I don't even remember what it felt like....

Lorazepam is nonetheless considered "potent" among benzos, perhaps due to its more dominant properties as a sedative/muscle relaxant than an anxiolytic. Apparently this makes it more suited for psychiatric applications than many others, often as part of a "stack" that includes a an unpredictable antipsychotic such as haloperidol. I have heard/read conflicting reports about haloperidol being able to 'reinforce' the calming effects of Ativan or that Ativan was particularly efficient at cancelling out Haldol's myriad of nasty side effects ranging from restless leg syndrome to complete and sometimes permanent loss of sanity.

Considering that Haldol's main purpose during USSR's Goulag days was as punishment of prisoners for serious offenses -most presumably served sans its lorazepam sidedish- one is inclined to believe that the possibility of halorperidol having any sort of positive effect on the action of a benzo likely lies only within a microscopic range of probability, one is then left at liberty to surmise that the potency required to tame such a malevolent drug as haloperidol has to be at least in the moderate range. Personally I was served a civilized version of this cocktail on several occasions and I only felt the effects of lorazepam. But the dosage of haloperidol given to me (a single small orange pill sandwiched between a pair of Ativans 1g) was in most likeliness only a tiny fraction of that administered to high-level schizophrenics and Soviet inmates. In my case the benign indication was the calming of racing thoughts.

Odd remark: contrary to the majority the drug that feels most similar to lorazepam to me is etizolam. Even I am confused as to the reason why.

Lorazepam from what I have researched is the only medication that handles every benzo function there is. I know if I get manic, that drug and haldol together shut it down within 3-5 doses of it. I know that Haldol with any other benzo isn't much of anything with it... It does go great together 5 mg haldol 2 mg lorazepam...

I take both of these, for differert medical reasons, it depends what you are using it for, both have ani epilipic uses, if its for fun clonazepam is better. for calming for example I will use 5mg of Ativan before MRI`s it works better that way than clonazepam.

Ativan is worthless unless it's IV. I can pop them all day and not feel crap unless I'm in really deep with benzo withdrawal and its still not very good at that point.

IV though, it gets me high as a kite. Had it many times at the ER

My twin half brother found a partial bottle of liquid lorazepam for ORAL use (for sublingual) and was wondering if he could inject it.

No, Lorazepam is NOT stronger than Clonazepam.

Every benzo chart I saw was Clonazepam .5mg is 1mg of Lorazepam.

So all in all, klonopin is 2x the strength of Ativan.

Some even say .25mg of k-pin is 1mg of Ativan.

There is just one of the charts, and actually I was right on my second part.

Most charts actually say .25mg of clonazepam is equevelent to 1mg of lorazepam.

I agree with Majicalcat, IV Ativan Is extremely euphoric, I also have had it IV'd at the hospital a few times.

I never IV any drug, the only times I get IV's is in the hospital.

One time I went in for Hardcore nausea/vomting, extreme abdominal pain, extreme anxiety, pretty much sick to my stomach.
The Doctor gave me a IV of Morphine, Ativan, and Promethazine.
After I got medicated, holy shit that was probably the most relaxing highs ive ever had.
This was just a few months ago, I went in real early (around 4am cuz that's when I was sick, so I couldn't dose my methadone), the doctor told me we don't give patients methadone here.
But at least he took care of me and gave me good enough meds to feel better.
I'd take a shot of Morphine, Ativan, and promethazine over methadone alone any day lol.

They are both shit ime
Alprazolam number 1
i dont feel shit from alprazolam (xanax)
so as you can see by the diffrent responses in this thread,

some respond good to a certain benzo while others dont.
lorazepam feels potent to me, but clonazepam more potent. (in their respective equivalent doses)

where as xanax just makes me annoyed if anything

.Lorazepam and clonazepam just aren't even comparable in my books. Completely different effects. One is not a substitute for the other, well maybe for you it is but not for me. I like to have both on hand for very different reasons. A much lower dose of clonazepam is usually needed, but that's sort of irrelevant when we're talking sub-10mg doses. I personally need to be a lot more cautious with clonazepam because it will knock me out at anything over a mg and take days to recover, whereas I could take like 10mg of lorazepam and go on my merry way. That's just me though, but I think people generally agree the effects of klonopin are much stronger.

Always these generalizations...Benzos affect different people with sometimes drastic different effects.
For example my ex-gf got super sedated by 1mg of Alprazolam but Flunitrazepam made her energetic and she went on upperlike-cleaning sessions on it etc.

I really like Lorazepam because it does not sedate me at all which is handy during the day but makes me relaxed and anxiety free. If you want to get wasted it is obviously not very suited for that.
And like rave_ above me also mentioned it is very dose dependent.
But saying it is generally crap is just not true, as well as in every Tramadol thread there is the obligatory "Tramadol is shit and totally worthless"-post.

Sry for slightly OT rant^^ Clonazepam is stronger by mg :)

have you tried oxazepam?
it feels much more pure than lorazepam. been doing lorazepam for years,
and i wish i had discovered oxazepam sooner.

if only benzo's were not so dangerously fucking addictive,
you could actually recommend them to people without being a demon.

oxazepam once a week should be safe

i love lorazepam
but i get too carried away with it
i cant handle my benzos :D
now if i have anxiety i take Gabapentin instead

yeah, that's your opinion. Like you said 'IME'

Clonazepam is def. NOT shit, its VERY euphoric ime, and lasts way longer than Xanax.

Xanax fucks up my memory bad, clonazepam ime is very mild in short term memory loss.

Also, ime, if I take too much of either one. Xanax makes me look like a zombie, not with klonopin.

IME I like klonopin better than Xanax.

I'll take lorazepam over both if it was ampoule, even though I don't inject drugs, but ive had IV Ativan in the hospital a few times, and each time I was super relaxed with a great high.

One of the best IV's ive had at the hospital was-

Morphine
Ativan
Promethazine

All in 1 shot, and omg, what a fucking experience. One of the best feelings/highs ive ever had in my life.

i tripppp on IV Ativan i swear to god, its totally different than orally administered
