i am currently on 100mg Dextropropoxyphene and looking to add 20mg Oxynorm....is this safe? (just asking because i know Dextropropoxyphene is a dodgey one)
thanks

Dextropropoxyphene is next to useless as an opioid - I would stop taking it if you are going onto oxycodone. The oxycodone will overpower all of the propoxyphene's effects.
Don't forget that propoxyphene can cause your heart to beat irregularly. There's just too much potential that the Darvon will be potentiated in some way you wouldn't want it to, if you start adding other drugs. I would not chance it.

Dextropropoxyphene isn't prescribed anymore in the United States or Britain due to it's ability to cause atrial fibrillation. As mentioned, why would you want to mix them? Everything I've seen seems to indicate that darvon has less of an analgesic effect than Tylenol (paracetamol). You might consider dropping the darvon completely, waiting a bit, and proceeding as usual. I'd talk to your doctor, but honestly I would be concerned if my doc recommended it to me in the first place.

a decent amount of darvon hits like a good dose of hydrocodone. so I think taking both together will be a problem if you can take both separately and not be too high
