Is baking soda used to make meth?

I heard of this before, as it can be used as a substitute for caustic soda, is it true?
*I'm not asking for synthesis or ways to obtain stuff, please just answer the question, it's my curiosity and I don't want closed threads just because someone thinks it a synthesis topic.

They are both different things and cannot just be swapped like that.

Baking soda would not work in the same way caustic would when your talking about Meth - baking soda is not strong enough.

You may be getting your wires crossed with the use of Baking soda when making crack?
