Is it better to switch it up after an 8th and get another kind of weed? Getting herb is unreliable here with my connections, and it can be a month or more between hookups... I usually get a quarter, but I find after the first bag it takes a lot more to feel as high, and the second bag is always done QUICK. Is this because of nonstop smoking, or getting used to the strain? What do you think?

Likely from getting used to the strain.

I'm kind of in the same boat. My connects aren't terribly reliable, so I can't count on meeting up again two days later if I just buy a G at a time. But, at the same time, I've DEFINITELY noticed a tolerance to particular strains, and like to switch it up when I can.

What I generally do is start looking for more bud when I've still got some of my bag left. That way I can smoke the new bud for a few days and then have a few bowls of the old stuff for variety.

I always try to put aside a few joints to make it until the next bag, but as soon as everything is done I smoke those too, no self control :( lol

How long does it take to reset itself? Any ideas? Like if you saved half for a few weeks, would you be baseline again?

I try to have two kinds at once so I can mix up a salad or switch it up whenever I want. I generally smoke a half oz before building up a tolerance. However, strain tolerance seems to be more based on time than quantity for me. If I smoke on the same strain for more than a week it won't get me high anymore.

strain tolerance? maybe just shitty weed. the better the weed the less you need. all i can get is shit brick weed atm and i have to smoke about 3x as much as i would with medical stuff. 50 a q (brick) vs 40-60 1/8 (medical)...they both last as long...also after smoking low grade all day i seem to get less and less high..with medical i'm knocked on my ass after one hit for a good 2 hours..so i don't need to keep toking as much.

if you wanna try something else get a different strain. my personal fave is purple kush..shit is so mellow but intense. if you have the option, try out different sativa, indica, and maybe some hybrid strains.

Wish the dealers around here were better, most of the time you don't know the name, and don't have any choice. I found that using a bong helps a LOT, even with shitty weed, I use much less and feel more. Unfortunately after the 8th even the bong doesn't help, I just get retarded sitting around packing a new bowl every 10 minutes.

wow, i thought everybody was like me, my dealers always have mid grade weed so i usually buy a half oz for a week, and about every other month some Snicklefritz or Sour Deisel comes around but it usually takes me .3-.6 g to get me ripped.

my connect always has k.b an mid grade all the time i never got to wait couple days or whateveer i guess im lucky

seriously. I'm used to walking into a dispensary and having a wide selection of bud, edibles, kief, etc.. and right now all i can get is killer bud which is the worst shit i've ever smoked.

try living in wisconsin where nothing comes though..... :P, well alot of weed comes through but its all shitty.....

^ the kind of bud has nothing to do with it; you can definitely get a tolerance if you smoke a quarter by yourself...

like other posters, I buy 8ths often because switching strains really helps tolerance wise.

lol at people saying there getting a tolerance after smoking a quarter. Are you smoking schwag?

No. I smoke very good pot.

If I have an eighth of a single strain, I'll be getting less high after a few days. It's not like it doesn't work anymore . . it's just not as good as the first few bowls. Then I get a new strain, and get really really high.

If a dealer has the same strain for a while, you can tell an even more distinct difference.

i had this idea when i started noticing some quarters lasted considerably longer than others. i decided to just always buy an ounce upfront, smoking about a quarter and getting rid of the rest if it lost its punch. when i would run into some grade A nugs i would just smoke most of it, i never really seemed to be wasting much money at all ;)
