Does anyone else here have low testosterone levels because of invega or abilify? I am pretty sure it was the invega and abilify and not the opiates i was taking as i had a 2 year break from opiates around that point. Also i was not on a high dose when i got back on them. I was only on 30mg's a night.

I noticed the testicular shrinkage when i was i the psych ward but i had noone in there to tell it to. The GP in there was useless and just went by whatever the shrink told her to do. She would just say im hallucinating it. The lack of medical care in those places is disgusting. Technically we had a GP but what good is a GP that only goes by what your Nazi shrink said? Now but its not as noticeable The .shrinkage is still noticeable but not as much now. I don't really care about the shrinkage anyway as i am now in the best shape of my life.

Did anyone else get this from antipsychotics?

Give SSRI Sexual Dysfunction at Reddit a shot - https://www.reddit.com/r/PSSD/

The shrinkage may go back to normal most likely if you lose some weight. go back to your original weight and then see!

I too suffer from this .

i am off all meds. I notice some changes!

Some antipsychotics can cause hypogonadism through elevated prolactin. Think of prolactin and dopamine working opposite sides of the same feedback system; when you suppress dopamine prolactin tends to dominate. This will lead to testicular shrinkage. Once you come off, you'd expect recovery in time. If not, there are things that can be done, but I doubt a GP would care or be able to do much.

Did anyone experience weak muscles leading to breathing difficulties? It happened to me and when I told my doctor they didn’t think it was from Invega…

I had weak muscles from invega and also my asthma was worse when i was on invega and abilify. I was in the worst shape of my life when i was on invega and abilify and i put down my breathing problems to being overweight and smoking to much in the psych ward. I was also denied access to my asthma inhaler in the psych ward so that made it worse as well

Anyone experience shortness of breath that doesn’t go away . I had a total of 7 invega shots 1 per month and it permanently left me with breathing issues

I experienced that briefly on risperidone and Haldol and I read a comment from someon who said one or more of them did that to him/her.

This is a well documented effect and not out of the ordinary. They all blow your prolactin up like crazy

Little bit confused where to post this but on clozapine 250 mg also adderall 35 mg. On 35 mg adderall It doesn’t really help. When I take 70 mg with caffeine it feels like it helps but can’t focus on anything. Thanks

TRT is a bit of a specialty of mine.

One thing I can tell you is that low testosterone is much more common today than it was 60 years ago. No one is sure exactly why (some theories say plastic). But it is happening to men at younger and younger ages.

Mine dropped below 300 at age 48. If you don't mind, what age are you?

Also, yes, most GP's are c clueless.

Prolactin causes any problems, one is impotence.

Im 43

Normally, testosterone starts to drop very slightly at age 28...but only about 1% maybe 2% each year.

However we are seeing fairly large drops in men in their 30's, much more than what used to be normal. I got a fairly significant drop at the age of 48.

I have been on TRT since, however TRT is a big commitment. I only recommend TRT if you are a gym rat and eat properly. You need to have things in order.
