Yep... look at all the industries that would be pissed off when they're obsolete: cotton, trees for paper, etc.

Businesses are cutthroat about edging out competition and keeping themselves alive. Its just normal business practice.

A friend of mine who lived in the east used to grow weed around his farm. He said it was good for irrigation and insect repellent. He didn't even know the damn thing to you high when you smoked it. He almost got arrested bringing in cooked seeds in honey, and charged for destroying evidence when eating them in front of an officer. Crazy.
