Used rivotril, zolpidem, stilnox, dorminoct, dormicum etc! My doc doesn't want to give me anything else! What to do? Go days without sleep!!

AK - 47, will do the job I bet you!!!

Just smoke a big joint of good indica strain and you will be sleeping like a dog

Do you have problems falling asleep or staying asleep?

Pharmaceutical wise insomnia is a tough problem, because most things that help are either addictive and you become tolerant to them eventually, weak, or really hard to get legally.

Have you tried melatonin (reasonably safe and non-addictive + doesn't require a prescription. However it's also kinda weak. There is also phenibut, which is stronger, doesn't require a prescription but it's addictive so you can't use it every day. And well ghb, but getting a doctor to give you that is most likely going to be impossible + expensive (thank the media for making it out as a no 1 date rape drug). Other than that it should make you sleep a very refreshful sleep for about 4-5h and while it can be addictive, the addiction is avoidable by taking at most 2 doses per 24h.

Also do you think there are any deeper problems causing your insomnia? If there are, the insomnia shout improve without any drugs.

I just got trazadone and requip, traz to sleep and requip for RLS. My sleep prob is
From day 18 no opes, so I know what the problem is, not sure on insomnia not induced by withdrawal but good luck, this too shall pass:-)

Do you have an active lifestyle? Working out/ sports might help (or a physical job)

Also do you use the computer/smartphone before going to sleep? They emit bluelight (no joke) which keeps your brain active. For the pc you can use Flux to change the colour according to the daylight but the best is just to leave it alone.

Imo medication will only make insomnia worse (in most cases) and often lead to addiction , plus most of them ruin your sleep even if they do put you out.

I see this shit again and again and again and again.... people are clueless, misinformed, while drug corporation are in swimming in ocean of dollars from sales of things that doesnt help but instead ruin you

its all in nutrition and lifestyle.... I just learned theres about 60 forms of calcium,90% of calcium supplements are rip off,you think you have enough but in reality you have huge deficit

I would start by eating in way that oats are main carbohydrate suply, cut off simple sugars, sunflower oils.. krill oil & flax seed oil both multiple times a day and some high quality ( mineral and vitamin forms that are actualy bioavaliable and doesnt give you cancer or something ) multivitamin like AOR Ortho Core

I just had sleeping problem and quality fish and flax & oats vegies and red grapes/apples... maaaan makes world of difference, slept like baby for 11 hours straight, before I was sleeping 3hours,5 if lucky

I fucking bet you have nutritional deficits so big you would shit yourself if you woke up from the matrix, solve that first

let this be your drug

One of the greatest deficiencies we have is magnesium. try some mag supps before bed...325mg. Give it a week or two.

try including raw soaked/sprouted organic cashews and pecans in your diet. they contain a lot of vitamins and minerals involved in maintaining balanced neurotransmission, and circadian rhythm .

Magnesium and melatonin in combination has been shown to be as effective as ambien long-term. You could give that a go. If you have that bad of insomnia, however, it probably won't work.

I prefer chloral hydrate, but it's very difficult to get a doctor to give to you.

Hmm, just gave it a whack on pubmed and couldn't find the study with a cursory glance. I could be remembering it wrong, it could have been ramelteon rather than OTC melatonin. I'll give it another go tomorrow, after I get some sleep and see what I can find.

I still cant believe anybody is able to be unable to sleep after fap sessions,no matter time of the day,if there is comfy bed,I sleep like two week old baby

It took 2 years after I stopped all benzos and z drugs AND after I detoxed from opiates to sleep normally again. Just sayin', I used to be the worst of the worst insomniac and thought I was incurable.. I'm still not a big sleeper (6-7 hours) but I sleep WELL now. I still do opiates (low-end opiates like codeine, hydrocodone, tram and kratom) every other day but I'm not hooked. I'm sure a lot of folks out there, maybe you, have their sleep fucked up by pharmaceuticals even if they don't pop xanies every day. Benzos not only ruin the sleep's architecture, they worsen insomnia with repeated use. They stay in the system forever, and even after they're washed out, it takes a LONG time for the brain's neuro-chemistry to recover.

Once in a while I take a high dose of Valerian root extract and it does help.. I was skeptical, but I tried a few brands and found one that must have a higher content of active molecules.. There's even a credible report about a dude who endured benzo-like wd symptoms after abruptly stopping use of a valerian extract...It says to take one or two capsules on the bottle... I pop 15 lol. Since it apparently also fucks with gaba I don't use it more than once or twice a week tho.:sus:

Relying on drugs to sleep isn't the answer, I can tell you that. It's a short-term fix. You gotta get your body in a rhythm where it happens naturally.

I'm surprised nobody has said this yet. Although the OP DID say that his/her insomnia seems to be mainly caused by opiate withdrawal, I highly recommend seeing a neurologist.

Sleep disorders such as narcolepsy are a neurologist's territory moreso than any other variety of doctor. If you are lucky enough to have insurance or live in a country with socialized medicine, you could even have a sleep study done.

That being said, I have never met a person for whom Seroquel/quetiapine doesn't knock them the fuck out.
