Hi. I've done a search and it's full of trolls and idiots.

This is not to be done for recreational use. Apparently, there is a legitimate reason to inject lidocaine. Not IV... I'm not sure if it's IM, but you inject it into the skin or something, or into the back, to help with muscle aches and pains.

if anyone knows anything about this, please post. It's only $6 for a bottle of 2% lidocaine, figured I'd try it. I don't know if it's giving yourself an epidural or what, but I heard some people from the medical field talking about it.

Thanks.

Do NOT try it.

Lidocaine is a local anesthetic used for minor surgery/stitches that has ZERO recreational value. It blocks local nerve endings so you must inject it into a nerve for it to work. It is used for oral medical procedures (I got it when I put my teeth through my bottom lip).

Do NOT inject anything into your spine unless you want to possibly paralyze yourself. If you are in pain, go to the doctor.

I belive, if i'm not mistaken, that injecting lidocaine can have seriouis effects on the heart.

In some cases I believe it has been used as an anti-arrhythmic idk under what circumstances.

You may be able to obtain some relief thru a patch of sorts..

Yeah, just because it's a "caine"derrivative does not mean it's going to pack a euphoric rush.I remember an ex gf years ago who got a bottle of lidocaine syrup for some kind of really nasty strep throat infection or something because her throat was so inflamed and sore that she couldn't swallow. It's pretty much a local anisthetic that may,as Treefa mentioned, have other off label uses and probably would have effects on the heart.I definitely wouldn't think of trying to mainline it.It wouldn't surprise me if doing an iv shot of it produced lethal results.Certainly not a recreational drug.

lidocaine will likely produce local numbness, then wear off in 4-8 hours, i don't think it's ideal for your purposes. it's used for minor surgeries like dental fillings and stitches. you'd probably do better with topical steroids or something. can't you see a doctor?

I'm not talking about IVing. I specifically said that in the OP.

Yeah, just because it's a "caine"derrivative does not mean it's going to pack a euphoric rush.

I just stated in the OP that it's not being used as a psychoactive or for recreation.

So I'm guessing you would inject it subcutaneously?

Yea, maybe. That or IM, I'm really not sure.

It seems it's exactly fitting for the purposes for pain or muscle relief... what kind of purpose do you think I"m talking about? I don't need to see a doctor for anything, I'm fine. Apparently people inject lidocaine for relief, ie athletes and such after an exercise, similar to a massage or something.

I'm getting a lot of replies here from people who are clearly ignorant of what I'm talking about. If you don't know about it, then don't post.

I'm well aware lidocaine is used for oral surgery, for topical usage.

I am specifically asking about using lidocaine as an injection for some sort of pain or muscle relief.

I have tried it IV, only a tiny bit many years ago just to see if it worked, it did nothing and I stopped there before I hurt myself. Not remotely recreational in my limited if stupid experience.

I used to have a big bottle of xylocain (lidocaine 2%). Keep in mind that I had horses and cattle so I ended up using it frequently mainly for topical applications, sc se also work. If I hadgot ssomething in my eye I would use about .2ml dropped into the eye. Things like that, if you have a really sore throat squirt a bit back. It actually comes in handy.

Realise it's an older thread, but the OP is talking about using very fine needles for IM injections. Trigger point injections done with lidocaine an inch or so depending on body fat into the muscle to relieve trapped nerves, spasm etc.
