Guides to safely and efficiently IV Time released opiates/oids, please add if you can
MODS if this is in the wrong section I apologize, maybe it should go into the Harm reduction section, but I feel it will help many in the OD forum.
I've been seeing numerous posts daily with Greenlighters(like myself) asking for info on how to prep Extended release pharms for injection. So I figured I might as well put together a little guide, collected from reliable and well educated sources. I did not devise these methods, but have had incredible success with each.
These take practice and patience along with basic knowledge of chemistry. The drugs I will be providing preperation info for are the 3 most commonly used/abused time released painkillers.
Oxycontin, Opana ER and MS Contin.
Oxycontin(Oxycodone CONTINuous release) prep-
The tools you need to do this are:
your OC (duh)
paper towels
cup with water
a small dixie cup or shot glass
an oral syringe (you can get them for free at CVS at the pharmacy counter - just ask for it) - any size is good but I prefer to have an assortment and the 1mL and 5mL are great
an insulin syringe (duh v 2.0)
cotton for filtering
2 spoons - preferrably one that is ladle-like and one that is more flat (info on this below)
When I shoot OC, I apply the rule of thumb that every 80mg of powder you need 1cc (1 mL) of water. Use purified water; or if not available, use distilled or bottled water (try to stay away from tap and spring water). They make a brand of water called "Penta" that is the purest water available on the market (in terms of drinking water) - this stuff is great for shooting. To get the coating off(THIS IS NOT THE TIME RELEASE MECHANISM) of the pill, dip a napkin or paper towel into water and take the coating off...do NOT suck on it, you will get unnecessary germs on the pill. I should also point out that the solubility for oxycodone in water is listed as 166 mg/mL. From my experiments I've found that to get the maximum amount of water (and most bang for your buck if you need to shoot stupid amounts of OC, aka the max per shot (160 mg...I need to do like 320 mg at a time to feel it) back, you can use 130 units if you're using 2 x OC80s or 4 x OC40s and you'll get back 100 units on the dot.
Get two spoons, preferrably one flat and one like a soup ladle or a deep spoon you can prep the shot in. Take your pill, put it on the flat spoon with the coating taken off, and crush it onto the flat spoon with the back of the rounded (deep) ladle/spoon. Then take the powder off the flat spoon and put it back into the ladle. Get yourself an oral syringe (or a syringe without a needle - you can do this with a regular syringe but I don't reccomend it, my method allows you to do a safer and more efficient extraction) and measure out 1 mL (1cc, 100 units) of water.
Cover the powder with water (COLD water works best), and then begin to stir it up with the orange cap on your needle. Stir it up real nice into the cold water. DO NOT ADD HEAT, it will only serve to help melt nasty fillers and wax particulates that you do NOT want dissolving into your shot. Stir it, it will get cloudy and you will see the wax particles start to coagulate in the liquid. You can let it sit for a couple of minutes to make sure that all of the oxy has gone into solution. Get a nice tight wet piece of cotton, drop it in, and draw it up into the oral syringe (this is also much easier than drawing it into a syringe with a needle attached).
Once it's drawn up, shoot the liquid back into a shot glass or a dixie cup. Repeat the above step, re-filtering it until you don't see any particulates in the liquid, it should be completely clear but the smell of the liquid should REEK of oxy and be very bitter tasting. Then filter at least 2x more with the oral syringe.
Use a micron wheel filter if you have access to one after this. This is a great method for preparing the pills before micron filtering so you don't destroy your filter. Shooting pills is not safe. The method I use seeks to eliminate most of the risks, but IVing is inherently risky in itself, so be careful. Make sure that all your equipment is cleaned with alcohol and hot water beforehand, and use a clean needle (duh), and use that needle only once! Wipe yourself with an alcohol wipe before and after the shot. Also, wash your hands! Most people overlook this, and it's a big thing when it comes to keeping shit as safe as possible.
Opana ER(oxymorphone w/ TimeRx mech.) prep-
I only tried a 12 hour extraction period this time but I'd give it 24 if you want to make sure it's all out.
Remove the coating(THIS IS NOT THE TIME RELEASE MECHANISM).
Place a pill in 5-10ml hot water (Yes, it's ALOT of water, IMO the more the better) - place the pill in, I stirred it every so often but I'd recommend just leaving it as is.
wait 12 to 24 hours...
remove the pill shell & filter the fluid for injection.
At this point you can either reduce the amount of fluid via evaporation OR you can just shoot it as is.
There's a few alcohol based evaporation methods going around which do sometimes work to some extent but it's hit and miss, mostly miss.
Don't crush the pill because it would cause the gel to spread to all of the fluid.
MSContin(Morphine Sulfate CONTINuous release) prep-
1. Take the coating off of the MS Contin(THIS IS NOT THE TIME RELEASE MECHANISM). I usually put it in my mouth and suck until it is white and then take a cloth or sock and dry it really good. Perhaps put a fan over it for a minute or so to get it super dry.
2. Take a Time magazine cover (or similar, I use a Playboy centerfold ) or a mortar and pestle and grind the pill until it is nothing but powder. If you use a magazine cover, use a hammer or similar blunt object and hammer or crush until super fine. The finer the better.
3. Make sure you have a cooker, syringe and needle, cottons, and of course water. I wish I had access to wheel filters, but I don't. If you do, I would highly suggest you use them.
4. Take 1cc of water per pill, and put it in the cooker. Put .5cc to the side for later use.
5. Using a Zippo or candle (or even a bic if you want to burn your fingers) heat the water until just boiling.
6. Immediately take the powder from the pill and pour it in.
7. Add the .5cc of room temperatur water evenly to the mix
8. Heat again until the wax turns a pale white. Don't boil it again.
9. If you can, push the wax to the side of the cooker, or
10. Throw in the cotton. Put the needle/syringe in and pull back until you get all of the water out of the mix. There should only be wax left.
11. If you want, you can heat the wax and you can get a little bit more water out of it, but not a significant amount.
12. I think you know what to do from here.
