Music has always been present in Deanne’s life. As a child of young parents, Deanne grew up in her hometown of Henderson, Kentucky listening to late 70’s and early 80’s rock, funk, R&B and disco artists like Queen, Aerosmith, Isaac Hayes, Earth, Wind & Fire, Rick James and Donna Summer.
In junior high, Deanne would listen to the local college radio station that was playing the freshest hip-hop, R&B, and dance music every Friday night. Unaware that it would ever play a part in her future, Deanne began developing her “DJ skills” making mix tapes of nothing more than a collection of the hottest songs recorded from the radio. “I can remember sitting in the dark, past my bedtime, with the music really low, so my mom wouldn’t hear me. I would wait for hours for a certain song to come on, try and perfectly time recording the beginning and the ending of the song so that I got every beat. I would record the next song right behind the other with no gaps, commercials or DJ voices. I would just jam to those mixtapes, but always excited to make a new one. It seems pretty lame, but I had no idea that it would later be a part of my life.”
In 1996 Deanne moved to Tampa and it was here that she got a taste of what club music was about and what she had been missing by growing up in the Midwest. She immersed herself in the music, trying to find all the tracks she was hearing in the clubs. This continual search for the newest, freshest tracks ignited a fire and unveiled a passion.
It wasn’t until she moved back to Indiana in 1999 that the pieces started falling into place. She began spinning at the only club in Bloomington with a house music format. In the spring of 2003, Deanne moved to Indianapolis and made her Indy debut spinning at the official Indy Pride Festival T-Dance. Late in 2003, Deanne landed a prime Friday night weekly mix show slot on, Miami-based, Energy Internet Radio/EnergyRadio.fm. A few T-dances and special appearances later, she earned a monthly spot in the rotating line-up at Indy’s hottest club, Talbott Street, which has hosted talents such as Paul Oakenfold, Gabriel and Dresden, Starkillers, Mike Cruz, Twisted Dee, Tracy Young and many more.
With weekend attendance numbers near 1000 at the Indy club, Deanne is no stranger to holding a large dance floor captive to her style of mixing. With influences such as Chicago house legend, Ralphi Rosario and the production powerhouse, Peter Rauhofer, Deanne’s DJ style is defined by the spirit and energy of house music. Vocal, progressive, underground and elec-tribal beats and rhythms are combined to take her listeners on a unique journey that is marked with emotion, sensuality, undeniable energy, and wonderful “dance floor drama”. “When I really started going to the clubs and hearing how music was supposed to be played, the best DJ’s took me on a musical journey -a ride. That’s what I want for my listeners, a night of music that they remember and come back for over and over again.” And they do. Ascension is one of the longest running parties in Indianapolis.

Music has always been at the heart of Jack Shepler, aka Jackola. Growing up Jack performed in many choirs as well as learned to play piano, giving him a strong musical background. All through high school his main interest was music and was a 'bedroom DJ' aspiring for more, so he traded in his bass guitar for a pair of turntables and a mixer - he hasn't left them alone since.
In 2003 he had his first 'real' DJ gig - a benefit dance at his college that he repeated the following year. In late 2005 Jackola was offered a DJ residency at The Mark III Taproom in Muncie, Indiana, where he really honed his skills as a house DJ amongst other styles. Jack promoted indie rock shows in Muncie under the name "Rock Music Review Showcase", featuring bands like Everthus the Deadbeats, Everything, Now!, Brazil and touring bands, supporting and promoting his online music magazine. In early 2007 Jack graduated college and moved to Indianapolis where he quickly became a part of the local music scene - both electronic and indie rock.
In May 2007, Jack and some long time friends founded sideTrack Entertainment. The group started booking and promoting a weekly electronic night called PLUSH on Thursdays at Therapy Nightclub & Lounge in Indianapolis, IN. The night, which went strong for over 9 months, booked over 50 quality, up-and-coming DJs.
Jack is also one of the founding promoters for the Broad Ripple Music Festival, a yearly festival featuring hundreds of bands on at multiple venues in the Broad Ripple area. He also writes a monthly column, "Discopolis", for NUVO Newsweekly that covers dance and electronic music in Indianapolis.
Jackola's musical style is eclectic to say the least. You may catch him playing dance rock and electro house between bands at a concert, or spinning funky house, tech house or techno in other atmospheres. Jackola has played alongside many internationally recognized bands and DJs, including Derrick Carter, Miles Maeda, Paul van Dyk, DJ Shortee, JJ Flores & Steve Smooth, Tommie Sunshine, Adam Jay, Bryan Jones, Wilhelm K, StarSteady, Slater Hogan, DJ Shiva and DJ Deanne.

Starting with hip-hop roots, Indianapolis based DJ StarSteady has been making noise in the Midwest house scene for the past couple of years. StarSteady was originally a hip-hop dj, where at age 16 he was already doing gigs at local hip-hop clubs and block parties. After going to his first house show in Chicago and witnessing the legendary house producer Paul Johnson scorch the decks, StarSteady immediately was sucked into the house sound. Some of StarSteady's biggest influences include Bad Boy Bill, DJ Jimmy Paige, DJ Dan, and Hatiras. His sound ranges from the newer more electro funky house, to the less aggressive riding bass house.
StarSteady runs Indy-based label Let's Play House Recordings and has even done remixes for artists The Verdugo Brothers and The Breakfastaz.

Scorching the airwaves every week on his "Hit The Decks" radio show, Rudy Kizer has been a champion of music and artists as a DJ and producer for over 20 years now. Coming of age in the Chicago area, he was inspired by the legendary "Hot Mix 5" radio mixers and started spinning records in his bedroom. As his skills developed, he began performing various mobile and club gigs, often slipping in house music classics he heard from the radio. While at Purdue University, Rudy got his own turn on the air at WCCR, playing an eclectic format for a discriminating college audience. An engineering student, his interests soon progressed from DJ to producer. He started a multimedia production company during the late '90s internet boom and produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered a wide array of sessions, including band and vocalist demos, electronic musician projects, and video soundtracks. From 2000-2006, he was a contributor and the primary producer for WRZX’s "Planet X" radio program (hosted by Jonathan Keith). He assisted in hosting Planet X's "SPACE" events at Eden nightclub, bringing some of the hottest national and international DJ talent to perform in Indianapolis for the first time. As a DJ himself, Rudy has opened for Paul Van Dyk, DJ Dan, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Icey, and many others. His seasoned ear for good music and years of eclectic programming experience informs his floor-moving mix of electro-house, breaks, dubstep, and drum-and-bass. Rudy is the host and producer of "Hit The Decks," an alternative dance program on WRZX, Sundays from 10 p.m. till 12 midnight.
