In hospital for possible alcohol withdrawl and also mh problems. Ive been givrn chlordiazepoxide 30mg (50mg too strong guys) on occasion and they'll help.me wean off it been here for a couple days be see alcohol liason team today, I WILL be OK! Nurse doesnt want mw to go into DTs im in detox and reha .Been on a saline/thiamine/other stuff drip. Usually I'd detox at home but I had chest pain and mh problems so I basically slipped triage and was put in the acute.medicine unit.now I'm here at gastro ward>5. Been treat like royalty a needed

However... ::cool::sneaky: being the reco ering user I am I'm wondering if I could take this opportunity for them to give something 👍 good. I'm making progress with my alcoholism. Fella next to me is on the morphine poor lad he's been here for 15 days he's in pain....

Any ideas guys of what I can ask my nurse/doc for narcotics wise? Being an opportunist. I was thinking lorazepam for sleep or temezepam.or maybe 🤔 an opiate if I feinie an an injury to my right shoulder which is actually bust to get some.without raising a red flag. Any ideas guys.

I don't think they will give you narcos you will definitely get some form of Xanax though. There going to be monitoring your levels so you don't have a stroke.

If your at like a detox center your not getting any opiates lol. Sorry for the bad news.

^^ yeah pretty much mate that's kinda what I'm was expecting to here. I may ask for alp though. Also the med I'm on is a benzo for wd. Wish I could write this in more positive fashion but benzo tend to make.writing hard like "et1zolam.not wrking"

"Did they give you anything good?"

Here in Tennessee you get IM thiamine (vitamin B1) & chlordiazepoxide (Librium) if you're in DTs or close to it. Then just caps of Librium for a couple of days, maybe some baclofen if you ask for it.

(edit) Definitely no opioids, ever. Not for alcohol WD.

Get like a kolonopin and a gabapentin that would be chill. Good luck with your alcohol detox.
Asked for lorazepam or temazepam one or two to go home with if the dr allows it fingers 🤞

I can go home tonight.

Everything normal I didn't enter dts I'm going home tonight, seeing a dietitian

GHB, but you can forget about gettin that for Alcohol WD.
They used to use GABA-b, like GHB especially, for GABA-b WD s.
But now its Diazepam. A GABA-a medication ?

Which does little but soften things out. Warning Mg. Hydro-Oxide is not:
a Mg. supplement, might they give you that, its a laxative !

Though Xyrem/ GHB, in-patient would be the best tapering/ cessation med.
Maybe if needed something to stop seizure s. Like a ...

That’s dumb. They’re already giving you Librium and by your own account treating well. They won’t give you anything better and you should be grateful for what you have.

I’m really NOT a fan of trying to manipulate doctors to get drugs you don’t need/just for fun. It absolutely sucks that drugs are illegal and I think adults should be able to put whatever they want in their bodies, but when people act like this, it makes it harder for those of us who legitimately need controlled drugs to get them.

It’s not ethical behaviour. You could also end up blacklisted if you keep pushing doctors for narcotics.
