illegal raves

Who's been to one?
I've been to a few in the UK but i've heard that there nothing like the ones we used to have in the 'old days' ('88-'91)
If anybody has any interesting stories on illegal raves, especially around that time era, plaese post here.
also, triple x, if youreding this, as a copper, what's your views on illeagal raves?
Would raid them or rave them?

Regarding illegal raves, I would MUCH prefer to rave them rather than raid them. You see, I am 25 and look very conservative, but I'm really wild and still a kid at heart. Often times, I can connect better with a 15 or 16 year-old than I can with people my age.
Back to the rave question - if the rave was definately going to get busted, I would try to go in first to encourage everyone to hide their beanz and be cool. The only way that I would bust someone is if they were so f'ed up taht they were truly a danger to either themseves or someone else. Even then, I would hate to do it and would not charge them with possession.

we had this one outlaw party back in 94 up in Staten Island, NY. it was at an abandoned monastary with these huge sculpted cupolas that you could climb up to. The place had no power and the DJ's were using generators to run a single pair of PAs,their decks and one blue siren light and one red siren light. The place was so dark everyone had their pagerz out to light the way.
Definately ne ofthe most memorable and one of the most fun parties ever.

you seem to have a really good attitude both towards the rave and the party drugs scene. I think that your response shows that you are very clued up about things.
My personal opinion on illeagal raves is that they are the dogs bollocks. i wish that there were more (but no too many). This is where the hardcore scene failed; they became too commercial and people lost interest cause the exciting atmosphere was lost and it was no longer an 'underground experiance'.
This is what i can see happening to other newer styles of dance music, like garage, in the near future. So if there are any promoters/producer/dj's etc. reading this, then take note of these words because i speak the truth.
Like smilepimp says illeagal raves can be some of the most fun and memorable raves ever.

i've asked this before but you might've missed it. I'm from the uk and i was just wondering what the US laws+punishments are on e just so i can compare.

i posted this week about a busted rave in detroit. it wasn't fun being pushed to the ground and having an automatic weapon pointed at me. now i can begin to have a feeling of what communism is like. does this answer your question?
 
Well we went to silly putty last week - it wasn't illegal - but it didn't have the permits (which is illegal in a way) and they didn't let peopl in after standing hours in line !! Iv'e been to a few Illegal parties in israel - these are usually trance parties that takes place in a forest up north or down south - these partys were amazing until the cops cought on and started busting them one after the other !! somehow the thrill that the cops will walk in every second made it more exciting - at least for me - but then again - I also jumped out of an airplanes in the army, and flew once in an F16 (not pilot just passenger, and no no training it was a drill flight) so I'm not what you call sane !! I love the thrill - somehow adrenalin is the biggest high I get - yep people better then E Acid K and all
