if your country imposed the death penalty for drugs, would you still use drugs?

let's say 2.5% of users are arrested and charged... so you have a 2.5% chance of death, basically.

if you like your alcy or cigs, assume they're illegal, for fun (since the only reason they're more accepted is cultural and irrational).

Well.. Since less people would do drugs, I wouldn't have been introduced to drugs in the first place.

But admitting they become illegal tomorrow, I don't think I would stop. But I would be extra cautious when using and purchasing them.

I would probably take what I currently have and wait for a while before purchasing more.

I would form a narcotics funded paramilitary organization to wage war on the government.

Seonded. I figure if we dumped all the profits of even cocaine into buying arms (and training people how to use them of course), intelligence, etc in a few months you would have north america taken over. A political wing to your paramilitary orginization would be essential as well since some party is bound to come to the table after the bodies start pilling up and say maybe let's cut a deal?

I wouldnt quit doing drugs but id sure stock up on weapons. This would really be the worst thing they could do in terms of combatting the drug war though so it would never happen in the west. Think of it if you knew you where going to be executed and you had a buncha guns and maybe explosives along with your drugs of course would you say jeez i had better give myself up? Or would you say fuck these cunts im taking as many of these fuckers with me as i can?

They have the death penality in certain countries for amounts that in the US or Canada would be a possesion charge and people still use alot of drugs in those countries. Traffickers will always take the risk for a huge profit as people risk death for alot less money everyday and drug users will always be around no matter what the government does.

^It's funny how allot of those countries with very harsh penalties are very big producers of certain drugs along with very high rates of adiction.

I'd still use but be way more carefull.

hahaha oh yes it is funny how that just happens to occur.

It would depend a lot on the procedures/technicalities law enforcement would employ to catch users. If the level of civil rights remained the same as where I am now but the punishments for using was the death penalty...I probably still would. But I'd be much, much less vocal about it and much less inclined to share with friends and go out in public high. And I definitely would not have signed up for BL. ;)

I think if that were so than most people probably wouldnt be on them so i probably never would have tried them...but if it were to become a new law then...Yes i still would..Sad but True

I'd move to another country. Who wants to live under a government that would DO something like that?
If moving wasn't an option, though, then yes, I think I'd stop using drugs. At the most, I'd use them very, very infrequently.

Well if I get busted with a large enough amount of my DOC then I'll probably receive a pretty stiff sentence. A 5 to 10 year prison sentence, especially if serving in one of the more hardcore prisons seems pretty damn similar to a death sentence imo. Yet here I am using the drugs I love. So I guess for me it wouldn't really change. The only part that would change is the amount of violence that would ensue when I got busted.

fuck yeah. im very unhappy with my life so i wouldnt really mind. also without drugs = more unhappy, no reason to live.

yes, ive never been busted......i have all aspects of drug use down to an art.....

and i would implement some new ones.......

probably not as much use tho, still high....

also i would also get a firearm........several

I may stop, but almost as much because drugs would start to cost an absolutely absurd amount as because of the death penalty. And if it was just my country, I would move. If it was every country, I would know that the world was on the brink of a massive, massive war/uprising and I'd head for a bunker...with an inhumanly gigantic supply of hard drugs, weed, and snack food to pass the time until the apocalypse is over. Then it's time to find the ladies and get to repopulatin'.=D

That's always the light at the end of the tunnel in any apocalyptic scenario.

Screw that i would just quit doing drugs. A death penalty for drugs would never be successful though. It would be so opposed by everybody, not even just drug users. Once people started having their love ones killed because they drank a beer or smoked a joint the public outcry would be massive. I can see the government being overthrown lol

I'd probably be forced to brew my own cider or something & I wouldn't tell anyone so would probably get away with it.
