If Humans' Past is Our Grandchildren When Do We Ourselves Become our Past?

It occurs to me that if all people originated from one source in South Africa then reproduced, then in a way we are all related. I've heard a lot of theories, not to be cliche, but that Egyptian structures had to be built from generations below us giving hints backwards. My stance is, if this is true, at what point does a family line cycle back to the far past?? Would all people eventually enter a cyclical pattern, or would only certain seekers or I guess, pioneers, end up influencing our past?
