So over the last month iive tried--and failed-- to get off heroin probably four times. The methods ive tried are cold turkey and a quick taper with bupe

Cold turkey i normally make it from (usually ) 24 hours to a max of 48 hours (onlu once made it this long).. im a real bitch about withdrawals and dont handle them well... especially the stomach pain since i already have crohns disease

Now next ill tiuch on the topic of bupe... ivr made it up to 3-4 days tops witg it. However bupe gives a little bit of a buzz resulting in more energy which isnt the buzz yhat i want and it leaves me fiending for heroin anyway,.. even after i just took my dose amd am not sick at all

Since both these methods have failed i was thinking about just tryijg to taper down witg heroin. U know the temptation to use more then necesary to get high will be innevidabke but i am thinking its the only way that ill be able ti make it off of it

Has anyone here ever done it succesddully? Tge heroin my guy has now just 2 days ago changed and is now of a good bit less quality so i guess maybe thatll help with tapering some? Well not really cuz id just gave to use less if ut was the better stuff but w/e

Can anyone offer tips, input, experiences, ect? Thanks :)

Sounds like methadone maintenance may be a good option for you, as it quells both physical AND psychological symptoms and cravings.

Yup Methadone will give you what you're looking for. The buzz is very sedating, you can easily nod on even a theraputic dose....its not at all like Bupe. It also will totaly take care of withdrawl symptoms, the mental craving aspects, and its not heroin--a good thing.

That all said, I don't know of any methadone clinics that will let you use methadone as a bridge, its more of a long term treatment. If you're willing to be on Methadone for around 1 year+, then that's the best option given all your requirements.

If instead you are looking for something to take for a few weeks - a month to ease your transition into sobriety, then I'd rank from best to worst the following options:

1) Bupe, then 2) vicodan/percoset, then 3) Oxycontin/Opana or any ER formulations,

Ill get on methadone the day that i am tied down and its forced down my throat. Fuck that everyone i know has beeb on it 2-8 years and ive heard how bad and long withdrawaks are... also the dental problens it can cause and due to me getting hit in the face by the side view mirror of a pixk up when riding a bicycle i already got dental problems and 3i implants in the front of my mouth... so fortunately u cant really see how bad it is but the bone that holds the 3 implants in is deterriorating which smoking cigs def makes worth but with methadone id def be fucked
