Ice as a study aid.

Well, uni exams are coming up and I was wondering if it would be wise to use meth as a study tool. I've heard students use speed and ice because it keeps them awake and apparently, they learn more in a shorter period of time. Any comments?

as far as school/uni work on amphetamines goes:
assignments-yes
exam revision-no
i remember heaps of shit when revising, but the next day its all gone
ever seen that episode of family ties where alex becomes a tweekr for a week before his exams? and he's out mowing the lawn at 3am or some shit ah that was funny

Meth/speed is a great tool for studying for Exams and writing papers. It is imperative to note that you should be on the same mindset when studying for the exam, as you are when taking the test..Don't go on a speed binge and study all night then crawl into class the next morning w/out that same speed EDGE because your mind won't remember what you read and you will not be alert...
Again, it is a great tool, but don't do way too much, or your mind will be going too fast and you will NOT be able to concentrate nor comprehend anything. Opiates like Oxy or Hydro are also good for studying and test taking (for me).....

i have a friend who is also a fellow classmate and it's come to my attention recently that he rails meth to read and complete assignments in the evening; i'm not disputing that it's a useful tool, and that you'd probably get a lot more accomplished on it that you would if you were clean, but how long do you (the users out there) expect to feed this habit? my buddy's an intelligent kid and all but he looks strung-out as fuck the next day in class and has an air of misery surrounding him...it's like you're flying along on this greased track of productivity but then suddenly you skid off the surface and you're crawling belly down on an incline of gravel (normality), leaving you with the decision to either continue the self abuse or accept your natural pace as good enough. i used to dabble in adderall and ritalin, it's just something your body and mind can't keep up with...you'll lose weight, memory, and ultimately motivation, counteracting the purpose of sniffing that shit in the first place

One of the most respected mathematicians of the last century, Paul Erdös, was also a lifelong user of Benzedrine. Story goes that one time a colleague was worried that Erdös was becoming and addict and bet that he couldn't quit cold turkey. Erdös took the bet and quit for a month, but suffered no withdrawl symptoms or cravings and later cursed his colleague for slowing down the progress of mathematics for a months.
However, I wouldn't recommend taking this story as being anything but anecdotal. Erdös was no doubt far more in control of his mental state than any of us could every hope, so your mileage may vary.

tree-dub: I completely agree with you and understand your point, it is valid. I used speed during that 'crunch time' in my college years during finals and hard tests/papers. If this is how it is utilized, then it is a productive tool (w/ a minimum rec value). Now, if the meth turns into a habit and is used on a regular basis, the body becomes resilient and resistent to creating natural energy built off of sleep and important nutrients most meth users lack.
With this, if you can do it for these *special occasions* like finals and such, it is VERY helpful. If meth/speed begins to control your life, it then is not a tool for a productive and healthy lifestyle, but in-turn a tool for destruction. This is MY $0.02, and some meth addicts out there will of course dispute me because they think their chemical friend is nothing but a god-send....

I just got back my exam for my History of medicine class... I studied with my friend.. We started at approximately 7pm the night before and finished at 10:00am the following morning (procrastination)... I ate about 120mg of adderall throughout the night, he stayed clean... I got a 92, he got a 67 HAHAHAHA...
