I have read success stories of ibuprofen and acetaminophen in treating anxiety and depression and as for DXM (dextromethorphan in cough syrups) i read the most success stories in eliminating anxiety especially social anxiety even better than benzodiazepines.

So does anyone have knowledge on these drugs for anxiety or experience with em ?

Wow, I've never heard that! I have found Codeine (you can buy codeine containing paracetamol over the counter) to be very good for anxiety (minus the tolerance), codeine is known to have calmative effects.

How much paracetamol would you be taking? It can ruin your liver when taken excessively and in high doses. Iburpofen can cause stomach irritation and sometimes a stomach ulcer that can bleed.

DXM can make people trip out on high doses, and a lot of people have found the trip unpleasant. So please be careful.

How much of everything are you planning to take?

Well acetaminophen has the worst side effects out of em for me so its propably out .

I am stuck with ibuprofen and DXM

I guess others said there are plateaus for DXM i guess starting 1.5 would be my starting dose (dont base me on what i said i dont know so dont use this info) isnt 1.5 a good starting dose for anxiety ? (Aiming only for first plateau) oh and i have to say i only have access to syrup dxm (rhinotuss) so is it ok to use that ? (Or are there DXM pills ? I dont know)

As for ibuprofen i have no idea how much should be taken for anxiety and as for ulcers i am used to em so its not much of a side effect for me plus i wont abuse it

So any info on the doses would be appreciated :)

I would advise heavily against using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) to treat any form of anxiety or depression or what have you. It's simply not what they are made or used for. As I'm sure you know, they are used to treat mild pain and in a general sense, are not good for your liver. The only reason that anyone should be on a long-term regimen of NSAID's is with a medical professional's (preferably a real MD who is familiar with your medical history and can confirm that your hepatic system can handle the added stress without provoking toxicity) advisement. In short, please get this particular idea out of your head for your own good.

Now, for the Dextromethorphan (DXM) which if am correct is the dextroratory isomer of the opioid drug "racemorphan", not in medical use in the USA. The opposite side or "isomer" of this drug is apparently where the drug gets it's opioid effects. DXM is a dissociative drug often compared to drugs like ketamine, pcp and analogs thereof. If taken in high doses it will cause the above mentioned effects. In my experience, it was distortion of vision, slowed reaction, sound, a feeling of floating while walking, feeling like everyone is talking to me (you lose your ability to comprehend voices and identify who is conversing with who).

I really don't think that DXM should be used as an anxiolytic or antidepressant. If it were to be used for this purpose, the dose would have to be carefully controlled, which is quite hard, especially for someone with any kind of mental anguish. The urge to take "a little more" can be quite strong.

Tylenol or Advil to treat anxiety??!!

That's bizarre.

I don't believe for a second that they can have any real effect on anxiety because they have nothing in them that should be anxiolytic.

For the DXM i dont care about tripping or imaginning or any of that . All i want from DXM is anixolytic effect so basically all i want is the first plateau . I dont want the euphoria of other plateaus.

So if thats the case isnt it better to use it ? As far as i am concerned using DXM for first plateau is better than going through benzos withdrawal
