I know many of you don't know me, honestly it doesn't matter.
Tonight I see the very sad news that one young man died of very unatural causes.
I'm sad, but mostly I'm very concerened. He should be a wake up call to you all, I don't want to sound like some preacher, but in my experience drugs in all forms (legal/illegal) need to be respected and understood...
Life is all that matters, some of us bitch and complain while others try to find enough food to live a few more days... Some of us complain our 2 year old car is a pain, while two senior citizens look for empty bottles in garbage cans to be able to afford tonights meal..
Why we sometimes 'search' for 'highs' and experiences that risk what is most important to us is for many a mystery. Life in its essence should be enough, but who are we kidding, the way life is for most its not hard to understand why alternate experiences are sought...
But what scares me most is how so MANY look at drugs (illegal/legal) as a solution to it all. Most frightening is that many seek out these things without giving them any thought...
I beg of you all to take Quicksilver's death to heart and to realize that we are vulnerable, human, and most importantly beings who seek life.
Read, learn, understand ANYTHING you put in your body. If your dumb enough to inject heroin in your veins, please realize the stupidity and danger you put yourself in. If you think 'E' is no big deal, step back and read. Learn that it is a big deal, if not physicly, its definately emotionally...
Love yourself, LOVE life, and most importantly DON'T EVER TAKE IT FOR GRANTED!
To all of you that actually spend the time to read this, please promise yourself that any drug you put in your body, you respect, you FULLY understand the risks, and most IMPORTANT, YOU FULLY REALIZE THAT DRUGS ARE NOT A WAY TO DEAL WITH PROBLEMS, rather that they are an experience in a life with SMART, LOGICAL, decisions...
It hurts to see someone die for ALL the wrong reasons, please don't be the next Ryan(quicksilver)....
For all our sakes, please be smart, never underestimate LIFE, and never take DRUGS without completely understanding ALL the risks..
Peace.

Well said dude.
However,it is my belief that everyone is,relative to their minds, careful. After all,the majority of illicit substance users use drugs to get high, not die.
In my untrained opinion, the problem lies just how far this "relative carefulness" lies from how careful we really should be.

way life is for most its not hard to understand why alternate experiences are sought...so true.... but no experience is of such importance that it should be obtained at any cost. life -- and the preservation therof -- is paramount. quicksilver's death will not be entirely in vain if he teaches at least one person that lesson.

If the mods of New To XTC don't mind, i'm gonna go ahead and send a copy over to their forum. It is a reality check everyone needs from time to time.
Thanks thor.

I think that the death of Ryan can be something that we all can learn from. I know there was a time when everything was new to me and it took time to learn and appreciate drugs and the experiences that come along with them. What worries me is that there are people out there who are just discovering many things and are not sure what will happen. I hope they use BL as a good resource now and in the future.

Well said thor
i think i'll go and get myself an E tester this weekend, from what ive heard they're not to expencive.

I forgot to mention how much I was touched by the memorial on the front page. I showed quite a few people that and they were all very moved by it.
Thanks to those who put that together.
