I wish you someone to lay by your side
To keep a firm grip of your soul
When you feel like you could float away on your worries

I wish you someone who you know inside out
Well enough to never doubt them
Or lose them to hearsay
Gossip
Or outright lies
Who never lets go of your hand, ever

I wish you a best friend and a lover
Rolled up into one
To kill two birds with one stone
So you're never alone

I wish you someone
Who makes you forsake all others

I wish you hugs and laughter
Champagne toasts and first dances
Resulting in jam smeared toddlers
Who have their fathers eyes and smile

I wish you long dinners with friends
That have your best interests at heart
Who bolster the strength you need
To face the trials
That life inevitably throws at us

I wish that you never lose
The ability to share warmth and security
Because you always knew how to share them
In abundance

There are so many things that I wish for you
That I'll never see come to fruition
But I wish for you them all
I wish you love
Days with no arguments
No sleepless nights

I wish you happy
Only sad when it's unavoidable
Because as much as I wish you happy
Only the Universe has control over that

And

No matter what has happened
Or who we've become
No matter that we have hurt each other
Reached the conclusion that we can't be friends

I wish you everything.

I wish you well.

This really sums up how I feel for my ex, we have remained friends and I just wish him happiness in his life.
It's beautifully written.

'I wish you hugs and laughter
Champagne toasts and first dances
Resulting in jam smeared toddlers
Who have their fathers eyes and smile'
.
that stanza really hit me hard, wonderfully succinct, loaded with imagery.

my only critique - and it is a small one at that - is stanza 2's repetition of 'out', I feel a substitution of one of them would flow better. that is all, other than that, i outright loved it.
