I want to work in a grow shop!

What kind of experience does one need to be able to work in these wonderful shops? Can it lead to other jobs if you start at the bottom in sales or whatever minimum wage job you do (is it a poor career choice?)? Any tips on how I can increase my chances of being able to get a job t one of these places?
 
poor career choice? probably, at least while weed is illegal. just be a botanist, g.

look up stuff on google, go to a garden centre and buy plants, buy botany books, study it.

u dont have to go to university to study and be extremely knowledgable of subjects.
google is your friend.
 
I already have lots of informal experience and knowledge about growing 'herbs'!! It would be great if I could further this with horticultural education. I am £25k in debt in studen loan though.

Go to the library...for FREE. Sit in on horticulture classes at any university...for FREE. Most lower level classes are large, and will not notice an extra student.

If you are concerned about getting an actual degree...that's a different story.
 
you really have to ask yourself where working in a weed business shop will lead you if you intend to pursue it as a career. there are two head/grow shops in my locality and one of them is run by a profiteering dirtbag who employs only 30-something losers who think they're still teenagers, and the other is run by medicinal users. i guess if you're a medicinal user it's not a bad idea, but if you're not then maybe you should consider where that job can take you if you ever decide to part ways with herb or find some other passion that pays better.
