I'd like to send this message out to those of you who were kind enough to email me and let me know you care. Thank you so much. Your words mean so much to me. It makes me so happy to know that I have put a little sunshine into your day.
I know the whole survey thing has gotten a little out of hand, but it's obviously because there are other people like myself who are just curious to know more about these people here we'd like to call friends.
I though when I was making up my questions that it would be nice to take the focus off of OURSELVES and put it on EACH OTHER.
I didn't want to just be another face in the crowd bitchin bout my bad trip. I wanted to be someone who got people thinking. Who helped people see the things we all have in common.
If you look back at most of mine, they were questions like "Why are you a Bluelighter?" or "How many Bluelight Couples do we have?". They were to help us learn more about each other. I thought they were nice.
As some of you have said - why do I care about "favorite colors" You're right - it was a pretty lame question, but I was wearing my fave yellow pants and they made me happy. Things like "favorite colours" can tell you a lot about a person.
One thing though: What makes my asking what everyone's favorite color is any different than someone asking what to do about a drug dealer who's ripped them off. I'll tell you:
One is ME asking about YOU. ME taking the focus off MYSELF to try and get to know YOU better.
The other: SOMEONE ELSE asking US/ME/YOU what THEY should do about THEIR own situation. THEM asking for THEMSELVES. Half the time they already know what to do, they just want our advice to reasssure them that they are doing the right thing.
I'm not saying one is any better or worse than the other, but what is the harm in caring about each other enough to put our own troubles aside to get to know one another.
If you're worried about your *IMPORTANT* topic being pushed to the bottom due to these surveys, you may want to rethink your reasoning. If your topic is that important, it won't get pshed to the bottom. Topics that stay on top, stay there for a reason - cause people like them. If you really do feel, however, that your message is really important, bump it back up.
Anyways, enough about the surveys. I'm surveyed out! By looking at the board it's not hard to see that many took over where I left off.
I just want to again thank those of you who have shown me how much you care. This seems to be one of those situations that has shown me who my true friends are. I won't forget any of you nor will I forget the way you placed that bandaid on my heart. I love you all(you know damn well who you are - you're the one's still reading this post, smiling, knowing you've just done what you are here to do - help). You are all amazing and I luv you tons!! Thank you.
