I told my dad in the summer, a little while after i'd started smoking. He told me not to tell my mom because she was very against it and wouldn't approve. But I really did want her to find out so I wouldn't have to sneak around anymore. I dropped little hints like talking about weed, and she's commented on my red eyes before. She even caught me high, but didn't confront me, i heard it from my dad. I convinced her later my eyes were red because of my contacts haha.

Anyways point being she never gave me any indication she would lose her shit if I smoked weed. Anyways, a week ago at my grandma's 75th birthday, I decide to toke up with my cousins, which I had never done before. A few of the adults even stepped outside for a couple hits it was awesome. I thought it would be best for my mom to find out then, because if nobody else said anything she couldn't call me or anyone else out in front of my 75 year old grandma lmao.

Anyways turns out she didn't even know, although it was blatantly obvious. So I just told her a couple days ago, and she was a little upset but but got over it quick and hasn't brought it up since.

I'm soooo happy I don't have to sneak around anymore. Wow what a fucking load off my chest. I'm not gonna flaunt it but this means much less paranoia and a much better high. I'm so excited haha. Now all thats left is to get my little brother high and i'm set

ouch!! my cousin did a similar thing to me actually, although the timing wasnt as bad ahah. she was talking to me about doing ecstasy and was telling me how she had done it a few times when she was clubbing, and she asked if i had done them and i was honest and said yeah ive done them before...although i didnt say how often and how much do it (smart) and she promised she would tell my mum. sure enough the next day mum some how knew everything i told my cousin the night before. dam her!

Wow that's intense man. I'm sorry that happened to you. I don't know what I would do if that happened; I love my family to death, but I'm so far beyond taking any shit from people for my life decisions that I might just flip out and leave. Conflict sucks, especially if its with your loved ones over a non-issue.

Wow my cousins know better than to rat me out. Well, shit, theres really nothing to rat out anymore (parents know i use drugs, and multiple kinds of them, but theres a few they dont know about). Anyways from the stories I tell my cousins they should know better than to rat me out to any family members...it just wouldn't fly. Although I am the odd cousin. None of my cousins have done what i've done. One smokes weed as far as I know, but that's about it.

Ha, you guys are unlucky. I used to think my family (who are actually of jamaican descent) were the most drg-free family in the world. That was until I got older and started smoking. Everyone from my Grandma down tokes from time to time and I have no trouble smoking with my cousins at gatherings. I just have to hide it from my parents who are little bit more conservative.

I'm the first in an intensely alcoholic family to do any other drug, they mostly know I smoke mj and use to threaten to call the cops if I didn't give them my pot. Eventually I turned them around by consistently giving them articles, showing them documentaries and news reports of the actual effects of pot. It also didn't hurt that they have never seen me "Fucked Up"...besides the weeklong benzo blackout.

My friend was up front and honest about his cannabis use to his mom and at first she was chill about it. She must have tried it herself and thought it was no big deal. But then she must have researched it online and came across some NIDA websites because I was there when she exploded and was spouting all kinds of bullshit. Since he is an adult and lives at school there is not much she can do to control his behavior but she now disapproves of it. He told me that she makes a scene about it when ever he comes home, accusing him of being high even though he isn't.

So just because she is chill with it now does not mean that you are in the clear forever. She might get curious and put marijuana into a search engine and some NIDA bullshit will come up and if she believes it you will be in the same predicament as my friend. Just prove to her that your are responsible with it.
