I FOUND IT!!!!!!!!

I am so happy right now!
I have found an old poetry book that I kept, back in happier times

A lot of this stuff is really old, but I'd *still* appreciate feedback, good *or* bad, as it helps me know where I've come from as a writer. THanks in advance people

Looking back upon this book I realise it is all very typical...soemthing I strive to not be these days...and thankfully, sometimes it comes naturally

I guess I am going to post some of these just as an insight into my life...It seems I am not particularly proud of them anymore now that I've read them again!

Alone I stand against you all
Alone I stand against you all
pairs and companions all but me
we smile and nod, friends forever,
but I cry at night, alone.
A hug a kiss, a sweet embrace,
these things i watch,
my only wish.
In this darkness of deep despair,
i wish of things i never dare.
simple words i know will please
but i cannot say.
my mind will act;
but it serves only to tease.
people say the light exists,
but they come in two's;
their names not on the singles list.
I must have faith
I must not falter
for my brilliance shines within.
Always burning, never dimming;
I simply wait for one to discover me.

You were young maybe, but you were good. I totally dig that poem. It reminds me of myself. No one can understand my unusual nature and I'm often labeled as stupid,weird, but funny. No one sees the real me, the deep me and all I really want is for people to discover my true face.
