Hi Bluelight'er'es'sss'esss this is my first post so any help would be greatfully appreciated. :)

I'm 19 years old, & live with my parents in Ireland, where we moved 5 years ago from London! I left school just after my GCSE's & have been from job to job from the past couple of years in which i feel like are not helping me in a way because they are not leading me to any open opportunities or life long careers!
All im doing is working in Ireland for a few months, saving money, going back to England, spend the money that i earn, & then back to Ireland to do it all over again! I hate living in Ireland, but there's nowhere for me to stay in England, is why i keep coming back... im not there long enough to hold down a job and settle down. :(
I'm very ambitious and have many ideas in what i want to do in life; but all this is stopping me from doing what i want to do! Its all so depressing!

Any suggestions people?

im in the same boat, i had to move to clearwater beach from fort myers which was my home town, and i do the same cycle of saving money and going back to my home town to see friends and spend it all.. cause all my friends are there

You say you save the money and then go spend it in England. Why don't you keep saving for longer, maybe find a vocational diploma or a qualification in something you're interested in?

If you save enough money, you could afford to live somewhere in England, but make sure you have a secure job there first. It may take a while, and I know you hate living in Ireland but i may be one of the ways to break that cycle. Banks have very good advice on saving and budgetting so you could go talk to them to. Also communication with your parents, they may help you financially to securing yourself and settling down with a job in a place you want to live.

Hope this helps.

'Eyes' me and you both... depressing times dude!
Guess we'll have to take Iota's advice :) Thanks for these suggestions dude! Im hopeing i do the wright thing!

Well, you're still young.

I was 21 before I felt any inclination that my adult life was starting to float by without me. I think part of that problem had to do with the fact that all of my friends were pretty much in the same boat, and there was no real push from my family.

When it finally hit me, I went off to college. I'm not sure if that's the route for you, but it's something that I think most people should experience at some point in their lives.

Why dont you write down your ideas/plans and try to figure out whats doable and whats not. Or may be doable . but in the future. From my own experience when I try to focus more than 2 major goals at once I end up failing miserable at all of them . Also , dont get discouraged if the goal seems completely out of reach. Break things down for yourself and get to work ! Step by step has always worked for me . That was you actually see results and it does not seem like you are doing all of the work for nothing. Have you ever though about going to college/university? You will get an education, keep you occupied and you will def. make new friends! Good luck to you !

I'm 25 and have worked a job as a mover for 4 years. It's not a career, but I finally want to start one. It's such a difficult decision for me. I'm thinking about going into plumbing.
