I can usually detox at home fine, I have a set amount of days I know I need and I usually can do this, but for some reason, this is much harder now.. I think i am emotionally messed up, I am a type 1 diabetic to so I know that is playing a role. Its a Saturday night, I work in morning, and I just got home from working for the first time after 4 days of getting clean, and I thought I was going to die of anxiety. I used a small amount just to put my head together enough to be able to think, hardly any and I want to get clean all the way. I know I should be more connected with help. I need someone to talk to, that understands what I am going through and My confusion in my head I am feeling with all this. What lifelines do you guys know of ? I am in California. I want to call my insurance, but I don't even know if I am okay enough to talk about my condition.. I am so upset about the fact I may need to call out tomorrow morning, and what am I going to say, that I don't know, I am just a mess.. Any assistance would be appreciated.. . Thanks again.. You guys are always so helpful

Hang in there @TracyTracy
I am sorry you are feeling so bad.
This feeling is from withdrawal.
Try to take deep breaths. It will relax your nervous system.

Give me a bit more information so I can help you better.
What have you been using? Are you in opiate withdrawal?
How long have you been using?

Opiate withdrawal has something known as the “kindling effect” where each time your body goes through withdrawal it gets more and more severe.
That is hard on your body.
Can you try to taper down slowly?

You want to call your insurance company. Are you thinking about going to a detox facility?

Just call in to work and say you have a migraine headache and cannot make it in.
That leaves you room to have The Flu if you need to stay out of work for longer.
That is all you have to say.
Don’t stress out over it. I do know how you are feeling though.
That mental confusion and anxiety is horrible.
Do you have any benzodiazepines that you could take to help with the anxiety?

You are not alone.
Talk to me. I will help you.
❤️

^ I agree painful one.
I know from my own experience with opiates it does get harder everytime you try to stop. My best advice is to try and taper yourself off but like you mentioned you are not sure if you can with how bad you are feeling?
I know how it feels to have stop using. I recently have had to stop smoking marijuana and it is one of the hardest ones for me because I literally can't eat without it. I am really struggling with it but I know it can be done with support. That's what we are offering you on this site.

Just a couple questions.....
How did your work day go with the small amount you did before work today?
Are you still feeling like you need to call in tomorrow and put your job in jeopardy?
Do you have enough to taper yourself off successfully?

I am only asking to get an idea of how your feeling mentally and physically. We are here for you and hope you continue to seek help and advice.

As for the information on lifeline in California depending where in California you are I am sure they can point you to the one closet to you.
